Conceived and founded in Florence in 1985 by Giò Carbone, Le Arti Orafe is the most prestigious private school organising and running courses of various lengths in subjects relating to jewellery and goldsmithery.
Since 1987 we have held courses leading to the award of recognised Qualification Diplomas.
Since 2003, the school has been the only private Training Agency accredited by the Tuscan Regional Authority to run training courses in the jewellery/goldsmithery sector.
All our courses are designed to ensure that everyone receives adequate training for their needs, with a large number of lessons, all given by well-qualified teachers (craftspeople, artists, designers and professionals).
The school has also always enjoyed collaboration with the top schools and most established institutes around the world.
The teaching method allows excellent results to be achieved in relatively short periods.
In Firenze the school's premises are at N°s 124 and 104 Via dei Serragli, and have three workshops, a gemmology classroom, a CAD studio and three other classrooms for design and theory lessons.
In Lucca the school has prestigious premises in a historic mansion, right next to the famous Guinigi Tower. Two workshops, a large room for meetings, conferences, lessons and seminars, offices and a magnificent view over the rooftops of the city. The Lucca premises will be the Arti Orafe Academy, where the advanced courses, Masters and workshops with artists and designers will be held.
Since 1985 the school has been organising training courses ranging from one to three years in Jewellery Making, jewellery design, and Stone setting. As well as this, every year intensive short courses and Workshops, Hand engraving courses ,and CAD courses are also scheduled.
The lessons are held in Italian, and foreign students are required to have a basic knowledge of Italian.
