The Band were runners up at the C.B.B.A Contest. Following their sucess of the Radio Cornwall Christmas Concert, the band again played at a prestigious event. The Dehwelans Festival at Newquay, where several hundred Americans and Australians with Cornish ancestory "Came Home" for the event. It was such a lovely occasion and the band recieved an ovation.

The first choir was formed in the early 1900s. Its conductor was J.H.Bowden and the accompanist was Lewis Pascoe, whose version of While Shepherds Watched ... we still sing at Christmas. The choir appears to have disbanded during World War I but was reformed in May 1919 with the same officers.
