I also like the Spanish, German, Dutch and Finnish anthems, but it's hard to rank them. Ironically I quite dislike the Belgian anthem.

Outside Europe, my favourite anthems are those of China, Japan and Cuba.

We could also dig into the old national anthems. I am sure few people have ever heard the official anthem of the French monarchy from 1590 to 1792. Yet it is surely as good if not better than the Marseillaise. Here are two different versions :

They just left the south of The Netherlands to bleed in a war against the Spanish.
Antwerp was murdered and ransacked by the Spanish.
The Holland Dutch did nothing to stop the Spanish!

That is the main reason why Belgium wanted independence from Holland.
