Sex & Gender Age of sexual consent?

This is what it boils down to. Most teenagers cannot imagine how conniving and deceitful adults in their thirties and forties can be.

    Kate moss on the Coke!

I'd say almost half the people I come across on a daily basis are on either coke or meth. Especially the women. It's more popular than cigarettes here.

Debate How big do you think is the Universe?

The universe is usually defined as "anything that is matter or affects matter". Thus, the "nothing" outside of the (expanding) universe is not the universe, as it is neither of those things. I've found that people usually have a harder time wrapping their heads around the concept of nothing...

California school district to "affirm" ebonics

This definition is quite flawed though, as black Americans are by far not the only ethnic group to use this dialect, even though it originated with them. But you're right, Ebonics is a vague term.

California school district to "affirm" ebonics

We're forgetting a couple things here (this is not directed soley at you bossel): 1. The term Black English may give the impression that only or mostly Black Americans speak like this, which is really far from the truth. Imo, Ebonics is a better, broader term. 2. Peer pressure. This is huge...

California school district to "affirm" ebonics

http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=45334 Once again, California makes a great stride towards having the worst public school system in the nation. "Ebonics" is certainly an American dialect, but I would say it's harmful to the students to incorporate it officially.

What would you do... when you where in this position?

Her cerebral cortex had liquified. She had no mind, and could not feel pain. Would you want to live like this?

Question Can you separate reason and emotions in your mind ?

This was a bit shocking to read. Throughout my upbringing, I have always been taught that you do not truly love someone/something unless you can point out their flaws and then attempt to fix them. I can't count the number of times my Dad said to me, "nothing in life gets done except through...

How Have You Been Affected By American Entertainment?

Sometimes it seems as though only the worst of American entertainment gets spread to other countries, especially to Asia. The good stuff simply does not have the promotional budget. I know that stuff like Britney, Eminem, and the like is big in Japan. I can't imagine how I would react if a...

    Suicide

There's nothing worse than those idiots that say suicide is cowardly. To me, it takes more courage to end it than to go on in a huge amount of pain. The status quo is easy, change is difficult. If there's truly no hope of ever feeling better, why not end it? It seems foolish to just go on...

Dropping the Atomic Bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki:

Either it's not covered, or no one pays attention in class. My girlfriend who grew up in Osaka had only a faint idea of what the holocaust was. She knew it had to do with jews and not much else. I would also bet that the Pacific war is not given an in depth treatment.

Religion In what God(s) do you believe ?

    1. lol @ "astrology" 2. I've never read any book that states or attempts to state that there was nothing in existence before the big bang. As you probably know from your books, time slows down as one approaches an object of great mass. The greater the mass of the object, the more time slows...
