Bombs In London? Hope All Our English Members Are Ok !

You're right, Aldgate is a strange target from an 'impact' point of view. Maybe from an 'opportunity' point of view it would make sense. Wouldn't suprise me if terrorists were based in that area at all. Thankfully there seem to be relatively few casualties, compared to Madrid and New York...

    Chirac's inflexiblity

Britain's contribution is 4 billion pounds, roughly what we contribute after the rebate is considered, divided by 56 000 000 people = roughly 71 pounds per capita per year. Now 75% of the EU budget is rural aid/agriculture and 25% of that goes to France which is: 13 pounds a year. or 728...

What do you know about Poland?

What do you know about Poland?

Wasn't Marie Curie Polish? I visited Poland when I was younger - never seen anyone drink Vodka like they can. Seem to remember reading they had the best kill ratio of any nation during the battle of britain.

What is your favourite period in British history ?

I'm going for the Elizabethan period, mainly because those are my favourite blackadder episodes. And anyone that wears an arsenic face mask deserves respect.

Study confirms that Italian men are tied to their mamma's 'apron strings'

Personally, I couldn't wait to get out of my parents house, but then I know people who say, 'look, I have a nice car, expensive clothes, I can buy what I want and I couldn't do that if I had my own place.' Can see their point of view, but can't say I'd fancy it myself.

Study confirms that Italian men are tied to their mamma's 'apron strings'

I don't know many people (in Britain) who do that nowadays. Maybe it used to be true. Most people I know went straight back to their parents house after college. I'd say mid 20's is about the usual age to leave home now. House prices are so high in the UK that most young people rent, in...
