Restrictive laws or making it illegal has never stopped women from getting illegal abortions. But making it illegal only makes it more dangerous. Sadly, alot of anti-abortion people want abortion to be outlawed but don't want to push for policies (i.e. equal access to family planning services...

I wouldn't be too quick to blame this on immigrants. Are they getting fair access to family planning services? That could be a factor, and poverty plays a role too. But it's not surprising, abortion rates among minorites or immigrants are usually higher.

The Catholic church still can excommunicate people? Well there wasn't enough people to vote on that abortion law.

Not surprising that the US is down there. Kind of surprised that the UK is though. American students do poorly in school because teachers are not invested in students anymore and don't expect much from them it's really not that American kids are dumb. So that's one way the US is failing...
