    Sarmatians, Serbs, Croats and I2a2

Servo is present first person singular, now maybe its close in English to Serb, but that is in English. Srbin(serb) and servo are clearly not related. I think its counterproductive when trying to play with etymology, especially when you have no prior experience. It can be used to make also...

Who were and are the Serbs and their DNA

All you need to know about the Y-dna of Serbs and Montenegrins is in the below link. http://www.eupedia.com/forum/showthread.php?t=25997 Also it's clear that there is not enough research done in Serbia on Y haplogroups. Not to mention that the current ethnic definition of a Serb is always...

    order of populating Europe

Well I skimmed through the pdf file in the link you posted, and it seems very interesting. I'm not an expert on the subject either, but Klyosov seems to know what he's talking about. If correct, it makes my thoughts and predictions seem foolish. Think about it instead of E-v13 or I2a2 being the...

    order of populating Europe

This seems very interesting and changes a lot of what I thought. Does the author assume that the mutations are happening in a linear incremental pattern or is he just giving the averages of the mutations based on the number of them? If its the latter it makes much harder to predict when the...

New data from Montenegro and Serbia

Yes, I read somewhere that there was a some G markers in Slavonia, in particular it was in Osijek about 10-15%. What about the K* marker in Serbs? It comes at 7.4% in Bosnian Serbs (marjanovic), and 7.08% in Serbs from Belgrade according to Pericic.

    Y-DNA Upgrade from 37 to 67 markers

It doesn't meet it's any one particular nation. What it does is that its a old haplogroup native(for a while at least) to the area of South-Eastern Balkans. It is seen in greatest number in Kosovar Albanians, and also in large quantities in Montenegro.

New data from Montenegro and Serbia

I mostly agree with everything you say.:good_job: I view Croats living in Herzegovina and Dalmatia to be of same origin as Serbs in those areas that are just slightly more eastern. This can be seen in your example of Pagania and how the local population could have potential switch between the...

New data from Montenegro and Serbia

I assume its somewhere around here en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:WestBalkans800.png Also are you trying to explain the 70% of I2a2 in Herzegovina by Oseriates? I'm sure if more research was done in the area I2a2 would come up in large numbers in many other place around the original home land of...

New data from Montenegro and Serbia

I also think I2a2 has to be a 'Slavic' marker which came to the Balkans around the 7th century. How else can you explain Croat-Herzegovinians having up to 70% I2a2 and speaking Croatian, a slavic language. There is no way such a large majority would accept the language of an oncoming...

New data from Montenegro and Serbia

I think you are mixing up modern ethnic groups with very old y-haplogroups, which is never a good idea. In the study about 27% of Montenegrins belong to the E haplogroup, the same haplogroup which reaches its peak in Europe in Kosovar Albanians. This doesn't mean the two mixed in the last 100...

New data from Montenegro and Serbia

Interesting, I was expecting a higher percentage of I2a in Montenegro; also its unfortunate that it doesn't say from what parts of Serbia were the participants. I would like to see the difference between various parts of Serbia, for example between western and eastern Serbia. Here are a couple...

New data from Montenegro and Serbia

I see the test sized used was finally a bit bigger, however its unfortunate that they want you to purchase the article. Also if you have any other links to Balkan y-haplogroups research please post the links here. I've read the one by Pericic, but that was more focused on Croatia
