My favorite soup is something called "Eintropfsuppe"... clear soup in which you put egg mixed with flour and salt... looks a bit strange... but I like the taste...
and if you ever make crepes and there are some left over... just roll them up, cut them into thin slices and put them in a clear...
Guglhupf... I think Germany shares this one... at least in parts of the country... "Sachertorte" is probably better known, but usually associated with Vienna not Austria as a whole... Apfelstrudel is also well known, but not considered a cake... so Guglhupf might be the best choice ^^
starbucks adjusted to austria... it serves coffee in real mugs ^^ austria has a looong tradition of coffehouses... you sit down, enjoy your cup and read the newspaper, talk to someone, work... but its definitely not something done fast... so in the beginning noone really went to starbucks...
in Autumn and Winter small stands are almost everywhere selling roasted chestnuts and roasted potatoes... *___* and we have a lot of beautiful christmas markets here... Punch and Mulled Wine Hurray! ^^ and Langos (with garlic *drools*)...
for Eastern (and only there) there is the "Osterpinze"...
German: my native language... I absolutely hate the sound of typically germany-german... its harsh and nasal and doesn't sound nice... I like austrian german though... not all dialects and definitely not the low-class slang, but my everday standard german...
german can be a very beautiful...
