    Haplogroups of the world

Good work, adamo! I'm no expert on Y-DNA so I found this quite enlightening. Looking forward to your thread about Eve. Can someone tell me where I can find Maciamo's maps?

mtDNA R1A in Colinial Virginia. How?

Well, as some of you may know that I'm a fan of rare haplogroups. Not very much is known about them. Correct me if I'm wrong but this MtDNA seems to have similar distribution to Y-DNA haplogroups R1a and R2 perhaps they were their wives. Have you tried looking on mitosearch.org...

    U5b1

How common is U5a worldwide? I don't understand percentages, I'm very bad at maths.

Retracing the mtDNA genealogy of Louis XVI (haplogroup N1b)

So Louis XVI did indeed belong to a rare haplogroup. N1a, N1b, N1e and I (Iris) are, I believe, related all being descendants of haplogroup N1.

    Names of Mitochondrial DNA haplogroups

I got the names from Bryan Sykes, Stephen Oppenheimer and haplogroups I and W websites. I posted the links at the bottom.

Haplogroups of European kings and queens

Maciamo, please feel free to add at least some of the royalty that I was hoping you'd one day add to your wonderful list and it makes it easier for everyone to observe.

Haplogroups of European kings and queens

Also the Bourbon kings of Spain had and have G2a3 (Y-DNA). Philip V of Spain was the grandson of Louis XIV of France. Philip V of Spain (1683 – 1746) Louis I of Spain (1707 – 1724) Ferdinand VI of Spain (1713 – 1759) Charles III of Spain (1716 – 1788) Charles IV of Spain (1748 – 1819) Ferdinand...

    Y-DNA correspondence for mtDNA haplogroups

I thought MtDNA haplogroups I, N1, U, W and X were in Europe since the Old Stone Age and that J (Jasmine) and T (Tara) came to Europe in the Neolithic, introducing farming? I'm guessing that H, V and K arrived in Europe in between those times?

Haplogroups of European kings and queens

Z is a mongoloid haplogroup. I wonder if Adelaide of Mochental was of Saami descent. I also wonder if Anne of Cleves, fourth wife of Henry VIII of England, was of mongoloid descent too, because she and her sister, Sybylle, had mongoloid looking features. Their earliest recorded maternal...

    The Laz

Wow! A good mixture. I always thought Lazuri and Georgian people resembled Semitic and Celtic people. No wonder they're good looking.

I don't know if you've seen this or not but I found another interesting link on Armenian haplogroups: http://www.familytreedna.com/public/armeniadnaproject/default.aspx?section=results Do you suppose that Armenians and Georgians have similar distribution of haplogroups?

Your Haplogroup (are you pleased or disappointed with it?)

Well, I'm not only talking about the first humans. There have been Sub Saharan African ancestors among Eurasians only a few hundred years ago. Here's an interesting link...

Question Can parents' strength of character influence the sex ratio of their children ?

I will take your theory into account because it's seems logical and I do like to keep an open mind to everyone's theories as long as it doesn't lead to discrimination against other human beings. I'm not accusing you or anyone else of that, of course . No disrespect.

Your Haplogroup (are you pleased or disappointed with it?)

It's very much a possibility, whether you like it or not. We all have African ancestors and all our autosomal genes get reshuffled from generation to generation. Surely some genes can survive. And please keep an open mind because that's part of science.

Question Can parents' strength of character influence the sex ratio of their children ?

The gender of one's offspring depends on the father not the mother, regardless of her strength of character, MtDNA or X chromosome. Remember that men produce sperm that carry Y and X chromosomes. It depends on which swims the fastest. Let's say for example the majority of R1b men's Y sperm...
