    K1a+195C: no deeper subclade resolution?

K1a+195C. Pretty sure my mtDNA ancestors are from the British Isles, too.

Dude. You are ALL ABOUT the red hair, aren't you.

How long did it take Nat'l Geno Project to "receive" your results in the mail?

How long did it take Nat'l Geno Project to "receive" your results in the mail? It's been a full three weeks since I mailed back my sample. Still not even showing as received by the lab. Is this normal? Thanks. edit: Title should read "sample", not "results". Sample. How long did it take...

my STRs closer match to M153 than its upstreams, except one?

Yeah, it's certainly possible that I'm M153+. It would just be a really surprising result, given what I know about my family history and how rare that SNP is outside of NE Iberia.

my STRs closer match to M153 than its upstreams, except one?

Dead ringer exact match on every single one. Except 456: I'm 15 on that one. But I don't think this particularly means much, as there are apparently plenty of Z209+/Z220+ guys who also have these that are M153-. I just don't understand how my STR matches can drop at Z220, and then go back up...

my STRs closer match to M153 than its upstreams, except one?

I'm DF27+, and I've taken Geno 2.0 and am waiting for results. But in the meantime, in my impatience, I got curious and started comparing my 67 STRs with the subclade modals (at the FTDNA R1b-DF27 project page). I noticed a weird thing that I don't understand. My strongest...

    K1a+195C: no deeper subclade resolution?

So, I'm one of the many participants in Bill Hurst's K project page at FTDNA. I'm designated K1a+195C, having taken the FTDNA "mtDNAPlus" test (ie, HVR1 and HVR2, but not the full coding sequence). Here's a question I can't find an answer to in any of his literature: Are some of us K1a+195C...

Can 37-marker STR be used to roughly predict subclade membership without a SNP test?

Thank you for the advice. I'm going to compare options between upgrading at FTDNA and just doing Geno 2.0, from scratch.

Can 37-marker STR be used to roughly predict subclade membership without a SNP test?

Hope y'all can help me. I'm R1b1a2a1a1b (P312), and I'm curious to know what deeper downstream subclades I might belong to. Problem is, I'm too broke to pay FTDNA $40-a-pop for the all the possible SNP tests. So what I've been doing is using a combination of my own 37-marker results, YSearch...
