Comics Which Franco-Belgian comics do you know ?

My favourite Franco-Belgian comics are:

Asterix
Smurfs
Tin Tin

Herge's: Jo, Zette et Jocko
Pierre Christin & Jean-Claude Mézières: Linda & Valentin

Specially the last one is a great SF.

If I'm not mistake there is also an American TV show called Largo Winch... i guess based on the comics.

I have rented the DVD, and it appears to be a French series. The story does not follow exactly the one of the comics, though.

I always thought the Smurfs were Scandanavian.

The cartoon was promoted as Scandinavian import in US,Smurfs had popularity following back in the late 1980's.I liked it for awhile along with Finn folklore character named Troll.

Asterix is one...

It was not racist when it was published in the 1930's. Every Westerner thought and behaved like that. I still don't see why it is reprehensible. The development discrepancy is huge between Europe and Africa today. It was abysmal 80 years ago. Is it racist to take a paternalistic approach and teach primitive people how to read and write ? Would Africa be better off now if Europeans had never colonised it ?

I am a huge admirer of the work of Francois Schuiten and Benoit Peeters.
