Nothing from a Celtic language yet after all the talk about Celts on this forum? Let's have something Welsh. "Titrwm Tatrwm" by Dafydd Ddu Eryri:

    Titrwm, tatrwm, Gwen lliw'r wy,
    Lliw'r meillion mwy rwy'n curo,
Mae'r gwynt yn oer oddiar y llyn
    O flodyn y dyffryn deffro.
Chwyth y tan, mi gynnith toc,
    Mae hi'n ddrycinog heno.

Pan ymhell o'm gwlad yr af
Pa beth a wnaf a'm geneth?
Pa run a'i mynd a hi efo mi
    Ai gadael hi mewn hiraeth?
Hed fy nghalon o bob man
    I fryniau a phantiau Pentraeth.

    Weithiau'n Llundain, weithiau yng Nghaer
    Yn gweithio'n daer amdani,
Weithiau yn gwasgu fy mun mewn cell
    Ac weithiau ymhell oddi wrthi:
    Mi gofleidiwn flodau'r rhos
    Pe bawn i'n agos ati.

Here's a translation to English. And here's an excellent rendition by Welsh artist
    Gareth Bonello.

Edit: Sorry that the link to the rendition requires payment to listen to the whole thing, I can't find a free version. But here is a free full song (a different one) from Bonello.

Edit again: And here is another very good rendition by Meredydd Evans, a bit more traditionally performed than Bonello's version.

    Soltanto per me.

    Volare, Oh!, Oh!,
    Cantare, Oh!, Oh!, Oh!, Oh!

    Volare, Oh!, Oh!,
    Cantare, Oh!, Oh!, Oh!, Oh!
Nel blu degli occhi tuoi blu,
    Felice de stare quaggiù.

    E continuo a volare, felice
Più in alto del sole ed ancora più in su.
    Mentre il mondo pian’ piano
    Scompare negli occhi tuoi blu,
La tua voce e una musica dolce
    Che suona per me.

    Volare, Oh!, Oh!,
    Cantare, Oh!, Oh!, Oh!, Oh!
Nel blu degli occhi tuoi blu,
    Felice de stare quaggiù.

The following song will needs that the listener could detach it from the scenes of "The Night Porter"... but that is only optional

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AwibmhHZEV8

    Man hat uns nicht gefragt,
    als wir noch kein Gesicht,
    ob wir leben wollen,
    oder lieber nicht.

    Jetzt gehe ich ganz allein,
    durch eine große Stadt,
    und ich weiß nicht einmal,
ob diese Stadt mich lieb hat?

Dann schau ich in die Stuben,
    durch Tür und Fensterglas,
    und ich höre, warte,
    auf etwas, (aber was)

Wenn ich mir was wünschen dürfte,
    käm ich in Verlegenheit,
was ich mir denn wünschen sollte,
    eine schlimme, oder gute Zeit?

Wenn ich mir was wünschen dürfte,
    möchte ich etwas glücklich sein,
denn sobald ich gar zu glücklich wär,
hät ich Heimweh nach dem Traurigsein.

(Note: You will note that some words or tenses of verbs are changed, but I prefer to leave the text untouched.

    Il Portiere di Notte...

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Night_Porter

It is safe to say that they do not make movies like that any more.

Once I read, that it was made following a wave of a very low genere called "Nazi-exploitation"... that is, semi-pornographic movies with nazis in...

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazi_exploitation

And however, somehow they managed to make an immortal movie... somehow.

"Il Portiere di Notte"... one of the movies that marked me for life... undoubtly.

    Regards.

Early each day to the steps of Saint Paul's
The little old bird woman comes.
In her own special way to the people she calls,
"Come, buy my bags full of crumbs.
Come feed the little birds, show them you care
And you'll be glad if you do.
    Their young ones are hungry,
    Their nests are so bare;
All it takes is tuppence from you."
Feed the birds, tuppence a bag,
    Tuppence, tuppence, tuppence a bag.
"Feed the birds," that's what she cries,
While overhead, her birds fill the skies.
All around the cathedral the saints and apostles
Look down as she sells her wares.
Although you can't see it, you know they are smiling
Each time someone shows that he cares.
Though her words are simple and few,
Listen, listen, she's calling to you:
"Feed the birds, tuppence a bag,
    Tuppence, tuppence, tuppence a bag."

I simply love Over the Rainbow by Judy Garland - it is such a beautiful song. Judy Garland had such a magnificent voice and I am so in love with the 'Wizard of Oz' :)

    Lyrics:

    Somewhere over the rainbow
    Way up high
There's a land that I heard of once in a lullaby

    Somewhere over the rainbow
    Skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true

Someday I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
A way above the chimney tops
    That's where you'll find me

    Somewhere over the rainbow
    Blue birds fly
    Birds fly over the rainbow
Why then oh why can't I?

If happy little blue birds fly beyond the rainbow
    Why oh why can't I?

    Ich bin ein Kölner!

For younger generations.. It's a joke.. About former President Kennedy visiting the city of Berlin..
Where he said.. "Ich bin ein Berliner".

    Trust - Antisocial

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0jCG0Vac34

""You work a lifetime to pay your own tomb stone,
You walk like a robot in the subway corridors,
You'd like to talk without putting the blame on others
You'd like to give your eyes to justice as she is said to be blind
Antisocial you lose your cold blood
Antisocial coming soon the years of services as to speak the years of nursing homes or else""

I will advice to post also the link... some of us with not so very actualized software cannot see some of the embebed videos directly.

    ++++++++++++++++++++++

Here two instrumentals that I like much...

Van McCoy's "The Suffle"... (USA, 1976)

Carlos Santana "Samba Pa'ti"... (Mexico, aprox. 1970)

Hi, hi... the first video was an interesting rock/rap Russian music :)

The second, of the Turkish-Armenian singer, I liked more, honestly... I liked how in this music you could feel the flavor of middle East blended... really thank you, Mzungu...

    +++++++++++

Now that I remember, there is an Ukranian group that also sings in Russian... the next link goes to the "neutral video" of "Moya Voyna"...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0AGUpwhxDA

... if you don't dislike so much military videos, here is this other one, more interesting...
