Three songs from the White album, made in 1968 by the Beatles. One of the greatest album ever made.

Since I'm into traditional celtic folk I was curious for cultural links between celts and central asia .... and found Bashkir folk music. One should not be mislead by the yurtes and asiatic look of the people, today they are mixed with mongoloids. The melodies and arrangements are plain irish, with a mongol touch. Could that just be a coincidence?

The rock songs you've posted are very good, too! Thank you!
And if you forget about Yuri Antonov singing in Russian, he could be a typical German 'Schlagerstar'

Right at the moment Noize MC is one of the most controversal Russian artists, as he is basically the leading figure of artists in the anti-government protests after the last elections this december. Both in activity and style I think there is some comparison to 'Molotov' of Mexico in the late 90's.
And Hayko Cepkin is really stunning, for the same reason I've always been a big fan of the Armenian rooted band 'System of a Down'.

The melodies are almost pentatonic, typical for celtic and asian. I'm not aware of any other european folk music to be as pentatonic.

    Example "Amazing Grace"

"Walk In The Sun" by McFly ( :

I wonder what it's like to be loved by you
I wonder what it's like to be home
And I don't walk when there's a stone in my shoe
All I know, that in time I'll be fine

I wonder what it's like to fly so high
Or to breathe under the sea
I wonder if someday I'll be good with goodbyes
But I'll be okay if you come along with me

Such a long, long way to go
    Where I'm going I don't know
    I'm just following the road
For a walk in the sun
For a walk in the sun

I wonder how they put a man on the moon
I wonder what it's like up there
I wonder if you'll ever sing this tune
All I know is the answers in the air

Such a long, long way to go
    Where I'm going I don't know
    I'm just following the road
For a walk in the sun
For a walk in the sun

Sitting and watching the world going by
Is it true when we die we go up to the sky?
    Woah, woah
So many things that I don't understand
Put my feet in the sand when I'm walking in the sun
    Woah
    Walking in the sun

Such a long, long way to go
    Where I'm going I don't know
    I'm just following the road
For a walk in the sun
For a walk in the sun, yeah
    Woah
    Woah
    Woah

Me encanta, tan buenos temas e interpretes de Iberoamérica, como La maldita primavera de la cantante mexicana Yuri.

Thank you, Carlos. I am glad that you like Latin/Ibero-American singers... and of course, we also like a lot good Spanish singers.

I delayed so much to answer your post, because I was trying to remember some song of Yuri that I really liked. One of my sisters liked much Yuri in the early 80s and I was hearing her songs all the day in the house. To be honest, from Yuri I personally liked really only 2 or 3 songs, but as the memories faded with time, I really didn't remember which ones those were. Now, 4:00 AM, I waked up and suddenly I recalled one of them.

So I started up the computer, and here you are.

The thing that I liked most of the song, is the extraordinary joyful optimism of the lyrics... in retrospect I believe now this was possible only in the 70s, 80s...

    ^^

Yuri has something special, very positive. Same thing happens I usually do not like all the work of an artist, there is always one, two or three questions which I prefer. Thank you very nice song.

Not European, but a fun cover of "Radioactive". Kudos to Lindsey Stirling for helping to make violin playing "cool" for a broader and younger audience.
