Humanity's common paternal ancestor may have lived as early as 350,000 years ago

I read on Dienekes's blog that Mike Hammer, FTDNA's' Chief Scientist, mentioned the discovery of a new root for the human Y-chromosome phylogeny, named A00. It is estimated to be 338,000 years old, some 200,000 years older than the previous Y-chromosomal Adam, and was apparently found in western Cameroon and in African Americans.

Could this be evidence of admixture with archaic homo sapiens?
