According to Ceasar there where three parts of Gaul one of them being the Aquitania(1). Who lived in modern day Basque country and spoke proto Basque(2) so ur speculation was correct Basque ancestors spoke a non Celtic language but culturally where Celtic and their Y DNA was also Celtic.
