Toba volcano erupted 73,5 +/- 2 ky BP
All over India a layer of ash can be found from this eruption
In Jwalapuram they found the same type of stone tools under and above this layer, suggesting hominids survived this period
The tools may have been made by Neanderthals or by modern humans
I don't know about any Neanderthals in India
It is tempting to asign these tools to haplogroup DE or D
But for DE, estimated TRMCA is 65 (comfort zone 59.1-68.3) ky BP, for D estimated TRMCA is 50-60 ky BP

How reliable are estimated TRMCA's ?

That's an excellent question. It deserves a lengthy response, but I keep getting timed out and my edit function doesn't seem to be working properly... so I'll give you the short answer. How reliable are estimated TRMCA's?-- It depends.
