What music are you listening to?

No, I don't speak any Gaelic - the Ontario educational system managed to wipe it out in past generations. It's still spoken in the Cape Breton area of Nova Scotia, which is where the Rankins are from. Most of the songs they recorded are in English, in order to reach a wider audience. But I like listening to the language of my ancestors, even though I don't understand it. Other artists from Cape Briton who've recorded in both English and Gaelic are Mary Jane Lamont and Wendy MacIssacs.

Ooh! My grandmammy is a Rankin.

Last listened to Burzum's album Fallen, I enjoyed it a lot! This week I've been playing lots of Wolfsheim though.

This song reminds me of the Syrian mothers who are trying to protect their children from death and destruction brought upon by warfare and terrorism. Especial these lyrics:
"War has come, bringing death,
lust and pain SOILING OUR HOME.
MOURNS AND CRIES kindle hate,
taint our hearts, corrupt our souls."

My interpretation of "mourns and cries" is a Syrian mother mourning her children after they've been killed by senseless warfare. It's so sad .

Lady Gaga's half time show at the NFL football match. It took me a long time to warm up to her, but the conversion process started with her singing duets with Tony Bennett, and now this seals the deal...

She wrote these songs (other than the patriotic ones), choreographed the dances, produced and directed the whole show, and then performed the whole thing live, no lip synching, and only when she sat down to play the piano after dancing did she sound out of breath.. She has an amazing voice, and it was an amazing production. I now believe that she indeed has a Mensa level IQ and was always in classes for the gifted.

It is an old song about 40 years
it is Ρωμιοσυνη, Ρωμανια ανδ Ρωμυλια

here the birds are silent (do not sing)
even the bells are silent
and the sad (bitter acrimonius) Romios is in silence
together with his dead people

and upon the stone of silence
he is sharpening his nails
alone and with no help
dedicated to Freedom

Do not cry for Romiosyne
cause there when she is about to kneel
with the knife reaching the bone
and the ruff-neckband on the shoulders

there she springs from the begin
and stands on feet (becomes man) and grows
and she harpoons the Therion (monster)
with the harpoon of the Sun

as for the Romios choose, but it is the same

6x8 rap song

It's the newest rap song in the United States. You can go on Youtube and type in search, 6x8 Michael Black. He also has another really cool modern rap called Me, Myself & I.

Since it is Easter here in Greece,
and people celebrate,

Spring day was 15 days the new moon after 21 march equinox
and mother nature day will be after 1 month,

I would share a song from Makedonia which usually you can hear it at Weddings
κερνα μας treat on us

At Makedonia we love the old organs, like Askavlos-gaida, Zourna, etc
the connection with Austrohungarian empire imported the bronze musical instruments last 2 centuries,

if you want to hear it at a more Byzantine-Con/polis version listen the same song here

we came to see you (how you are doing)
treat us and have a good time

Thank you for sharing the video and link. I prefer the link. I also prefer this one with a brass sound to the video you gave. Note: I wouldn't have found it but for you. Respect. https://youtu.be/0Dvls6FagJU

This song means a lot to me personally. The way it captures the emotions that I've felt is uncanny...here's the lyrics in case you can't bother with the metal
Life it seems, will fade away
Drifting further every day
Getting lost within myself
Nothing matters no one else
I have lost the will to live
Simply nothing more to give
There is nothing more for me
Need the end to set me free

Things not what they used to be
Missing one inside of me
Deathly lost, this Can t be real
Cannot stand this hell I feel
Emptiness is filling me
To the point of agony
Growing darkness taking dawn
I was me, but now he 's gone

No one but me can save myself, but it's too late
Now, I can't think, think why I should even try
Yesterday seems as though it never existed
Death Greets me warm, now I will just say goodbye

"Yesterday seems though it never existed"..now THATS realistic! Some of the best lyrics of this song period!
