From a French person:

Just a word about Political Correctness. France, country of the human rights, apologize, the Human Rights, can be considered as the one which invented the Political Correctness. Hurrah! Unfortunately, I'm french. A few weeks ago I attempted to join MyHeritage and upload my datas.

And I got this:

To Hell with PC!

Interestingly, if you check in the list of available countries, 23andMe (international site) and Geno 2.0 both ship their kits to France (where it's as illegal as selling alcohol in Saudi Arabia), but neither ship them to Japan, where DNA tests are legal. I have always found that odd. Is that because they are afraid to have to deal with overly anxious Japanese customers requesting support in their language? I have no idea, but you'd think that with 127 million inhabitants and lots of disposable income it would be a potentially lucrative market.
