Islamists plan to "wipe out" Coptic Christians in Egypt

It is a madness within Islam. The Copts essentially welcomed the Arabian invaders, as they were oppressed by the Byzantines. The 'conquering' of Egypt was a major coup and hurt Byzantium greatly. For a good while, the Copts prospered through lower taxation and freedom to practice their version of Christianity.

So, if the earliest Islamists did not have open warfare on the Copts, what is the basis for these latter day Islamists to do so? Why do they have the correct view? The same questions apply to Roman and earlier era pre-Islam artifacts and sites. These were present in Muhammad's day. Muhammad didn't destroy these. Was he not fully a Moslem? Did he not fully comply with Islam?

Why cannot appropriate Islamic groups denounce these extremists openly, loudly and widely?

That's indeed the question.

From what an Egyptian Muslim woman I know tells me this is all recent; growing up there was no animosity with the Copts. She says people are afraid to speak up because then they'll be targeted by these brainwashed young men too. It reminds me of what the Brownshirts did in Germany.

I've seen this in a couple of documentaries however here are some ubi links on the matter. According to isis, the American militia are modern day crusaders; apparently as I'm reaserching the subject Obama called ISIS crusaders also. Looks like mideval history might be repeating itself.

Anyone with a brain cell in his head, including Middle Easterners, should know that Americans aren't interested in a "crusade". unless you call a desire for an end to genocide and slaughter and a wish to promote human rights, including women's rights, a "crusade".

You would think so, however it's hard telling what is going in Isis's mind. However there are indeed some Muslims that will think otherwise like you said, there are some Muslims over here that when you talk to them about these issues they usually not impressed on what is going on in their native country. I think Isis is indeed brainwashed; to the point where there is an Egyptian goddess with the same name Isis.

.....
But their destruction is not solely nor even predominately aimed at the Americans. They have destroyed ancient and historic treasures that constitute a crime against humanity in a broad sense. So, the crusader nonsense is just that. Their actions prove that.

They have a view of Islam that the founder did not act upon. So, they should be condemned by the majority of Muslims for no other reason that ISIS/ISIL/Daesh holds themselves in higher fidelity to Islam than the Prophet. The great rush to Syria and Iraq ought to be the faithful looking to wipe them out.

Exactly what I'm thinking, just crossing my fingers that the Syrian President, Rebels, Russia and America can come up with a truce and unify; doesn't seem like that is the way it's going pitifully with this Syrian civil war. But outside Syria, unifying the Islam to a common cause might be the best arsenal we could possibly muster at the moment. ;)

Egypt is not far. Plus, the enemy is within already. See the many incidents that have taken place around already.
