SEOUL, South Korea - As many as 3,000 people were killed or injured Thursday when two trains carrying oil and liquefied petroleum gas collided and exploded in a North Korean train station, South Korean media reported.

The North Korean leader, Kim Jong Il, reportedly had passed through the station as he returned from China hours earlier, South Korea's all-news cable channel, YTN, reported.

Dang, That sucks, did they say if it was terrorism or accidental?

That's odd, North Korea's offical news site did not mention anything about the accident.

I was however informed about how we need to be vigilant about the thread of Japanese military agression in Southeast Asia, the mass starvation and human rights violations in South Korea, and the many honors bestowed upon The Great Leader Kim Jung Il.

sounds like something that would happen in N. Korea.... that's really sad that 3000 people are dead....

BBC was talking about it being an accident this morning. They were batting around the idea that when everything was stopped and moved around to let the Dear Leader through (since he only travels by rail on long trips) things got all mixed up and two fuel trains ended up on the same track. It was a few hours after he had gone through, so if someone had tried to kill him they did a really bad job of it!

Hmm. And bad timing, no less. Off-timing...

Yeah, I had the thought of maybe he was running early and got on an earlier train, then what they had planned? But who knows.
