I seem to plot away from other cypriots. My heritage gives me 9% North Africa and 27% west Asia which seems high compared to other cypriots.

I also struggle getting a good fit with a resonable population mix.


Trying to understand what could be unique to my results.

I don't see nothing strange you're just close to the averaged cypriot
 
Thanks alot. It must be the myheritage algorithm that is confusing me. I presume that Cypriots on it are just a mix of surrounding populations rather than cypriot.

Do the results suggest that I am 58% anatolian vs 40% cypriot average?

Do you have details of the algorithm that you used and what be best for modelling ancient/ bronze age admixture?
 
You have typical Cypriot results, this is the best model to compare you to Roman era stuff.

Amazing.

I am somewhat surprised to be nearer to some greek islands than a Turkish Cypriot considering some studies I read that claimed tcyp and gcyp were more similar than any other surrounding population? Are these fairly outdated now?

So I am a pretty average cypriot with nothing exciting to report.


At what distance would you suggest to be similar to a population? Sub 3, 4?
