Best
Strabo - accurate and detailed
Herodotus -
as above
Livy -
as above

Middle
Polybius
Ptolemy -
suffered from discriptive accuracy
Tacitus -
lacked accuracy
Homer -
suffered from too many bard stories

Worst
jordanes -
copied Cassiodorus works and turn non-fiction into fiction
Pliny the Elder -

Of the others I have limited experience
