Is Pontid considered in the East Med grouping, or are they separate? And if so what is the difference?
Pontid is different, the peak of pontid features is near the black sea, while the east med peak of features is in greece and western shores of anatolia.
Pontid is nordo-med and shares similarities with atlantids (nordo-med).. probably it is due to ancient common origins, celts are thought to arrive from near the black sea, in today southern ukraine, like pontids
from wikipedia
Pontid race - subrace in structure Caucasian race. The race is extended among the population of the Black Sea coast, namely: Adygs, Abkhazians, Georgians, southern Ukrainians, southern Russian, Moldavians, Romanians, and extends further west to the populations consisting of Poles, Slovakians, Czechs, Hungarians, and Southeastern-European Slavs.
Pontids have a direct nose, sometimes with the lowered tip, differs from more southern Caspian type in the raised percent of light eyes and hair.
