a huge search for troyan DNA started at today Turkey.

by what I heard under command of university of Madison-Wiskonsin and Mr William Elward (sory if I spell wrong, translation from Greek spelling) and the Turkish university of Canak, ale started a search for anciet Troyan DNA,

http://news247.gr/eidiseis/kosmos/t...saxnoyn_to_dna_twn_arxaiwn_trwwn.1971424.html

The main problem is if the DNA fits with the one we consider as Troyan,
the truth is that although we find Troy today, the royal tomps have never been found, as also which one of the 7 troys we know?
there are many troys one above the other lasting for more than 4500 years,

I hope that searches find the correct Troy and the specific DNA that they are after,

ANY SUGGESTION WHAT kind of DNA, ANCIENT TROYANS WERE?

may I remind you that in 1870 German archaiologist Erric Slieman (sory if spell wrong) found an area of about 24 000 m2 which many belive that is the acropolis of ancient troy, while bellow that extends a more than 200 000 m2 possible fortificated city.

I hope for news soon enough.

it seems like there is a DNA search Fever in Balkans, since searches run everywhere,

According to this site, ancient Trojans were most likely early R1b people (probably ancestors of Hittites). I am also really looking forward for the results of this investigation. When I was a child my mother would read Homer's Iliad to me every night until I fell asleep! Yetos, if you find out about any results, please update us.. Thanks!

"The J2f-M67 clade is localized to Northwest Turkey. It is well known that during this period, Northwest Anatolia developed a complex society that engaged in widespread Aegean trade referred to as "Maritime Troia culture," involving both the western Anatolian mainland and several of the large islands in the eastern Aegean, Chios, Lemnos and Lesbos (Korfmann 1996)."

"2.1. The Maritime Troy Culture. The coastline of the North Aegean and the costal regions of the Marmara Sea were determined as the area of distribution of the “Maritime Troy Culture”, which encompasses the first three settlement phases of Troy from c. 2920 to 2200 BC (KORFMANN 2006:4). In more general terms this is the period of the Early Bronze Age (EBA)"

I have explained on the R1b page of this website since 2009 why I believe that the Trojans carried at least R1b-M269 or L23. Troy has an amazingly long history spanning 3500 years. So it is doubtful that the haplogroup composition of its citizens remained constant throughout the ages. Early Bronze Age Troy would certainly have had a lot of R1b, then I expect that the proportion of J2 increased progressively over time, especially after the Greek conquest circa 1250 BCE.
