The 'arrow' marker for maps in my case 'Ireland' obscures or partially blocks &/8th of the checkbox for 'keeping in the forum' when logging in thus not knowing if I am checked in or not.

I haven't experienced any such problem, and I tested the site with the latest versions of Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer, Safari and Opera. What browser (and which version) are you using ?
 
I use Firefox. Not sure of the version. It is in the public library system. I just checked, it is the same with Internet Explorer.
