Good morning to all users,

I'm new in this forum and I'm a newbie in genetic also.

I would take an y-dna test, but I don't know what.

I read a lot of topics in this forum, but I found two great factions:
1) 23andme supporters;
2) FTDna supporters.

On order to know my haplogroup and, I hope, my people of origin, what test best suits my wish?
I saw that FTDna offers many tests: is it a good choice the y-dna 111, or it doesn't add anything to - for example - the y-dna 67?

Can you help me in taking a decision?

Thanks a lot,
Anscaricus

If you're mainly interested in Y-DNA, go for FTDNA. They let you do follow-up tests that get into the details of your precise haplogroup. They also have a larger private Y-DNA database, and more Y-DNA specific projects. 67 markers should be more than enough, but they let you upgrade in case you turn out to be in a clade with a lot of convergence (or something) and need that 111.
