Hi. I wanted to ask you if you know of any traces of haplogroup V1a ou V1a1 (or even V1) in southern Europe (Balkans, Greece)? Or any southern European populations associated with this haplogroup? I tried to find some research concerning it, but I found the only individuals with V1a are from Scandinavia, Poland and Russia.
Thank you for your time.

Hi. Is there no info? I have found recently 2-3 individuals from Italy.
Hi, My maternal lineage is from Italy, Campagna region (Salerno) as far as I know but according to 23&me our haplogroup is V1.
Our DNA shows Italian and Hispanic ancestry, which makes sense with our family history but also, there's some traces of Balkan... maybe from Greeks??? We don't know, but because of the past presence of the Greeks in the area, I think it's a possibility... The fact of being V1 is another big question for me, it seems not as common in Italy plus from my greatgrandma to me, we all are blond with blue eyes, which also, does not represents that area phenotype... :petrified:
Any one else out there with similar puzzle?
