Hello everyone,
I've just received my results frome 23andme and I'm a bit suprised.
From my mother, I'm H1a1 wich is pretty common in Europe I think.
But from my father, 23andme just gave R1b1b2a.
Here is what I've got :
R1b1b2a defining mutations
variant call anc der
rs9785971 (L23) G A
rs9786142 (L49) A T A
R1b1b2 defining mutations
variant call anc der
rs877756 (S3) T C
rs9786153 (M269) C T C
R1b1b defining mutations
variant call anc der
rs9785702 (P297) C G C
What does it mean ? Am I R1b1b2a* (or R1b1a2a*) ?
I am positive to L49 but when i click on L23 it says "no genotyped". I've read that L49=L23 ; Is that correct ?
Am I R1b-L23 ?
I've read that this type of haplogroup is very rare in Europe. I am from Lorraine (near germany border) but I'm pretty sure that my ancesters were from Tyrol or Vorarlberg in Switzerland (they came to Lorraine after the 30 years war at the end of the XVIIth century).
This map shows a concentration of R1b1a2a precisely in Tyrol and Switzerland (raetic ?) ; but i can't post it yet (First result when you type on google: Gerard Corcoran R1b-L23 Frequency Map). Maybe it makes sense...
What do you think of that ? Should I do other tests ?
Thanks a lot for your help !
