Love this song: Ermal Meta-Vietato Morire
Lyrics
I remember those eyes full of life
Ricordo quegli occhi pieni di vita
And your smile punched in the face
E il tuo sorriso ferito dai pugni in faccia
I remember the night with few lights
Ricordo la notte con poche luci
But at least there weren't wolves out there
I remember the first day of school
Ricordo il primo giorno di scuola
29 children and the teacher Margherita
29 bambini e la maestra Margherita
Everyone was asking me in chorus
Tutti mi chiedevano in coro
How come I had a black eye
Come mai avessi un occhio nero
Your necklace with the magic stone
La tua collana con la pietra magica
I was holding her to take you away from there
And fear shattered thoughts
E la paura frantumava i pensieri
That other people thought of the bones
Che alle ossa ci pensavano gli altri
And the effort you had to go through
E la fatica che hai dovuto fare
From a book of hate to teach me love
You stopped dreaming to make me dream
Hai smesso di sognare per farmi sognare
Your words are now a song
Le tue parole sono adesso una canzone
Change your stars, if you try you will succeed
And remember that love never hits you in the face
My son remembers
Figlio mio ricorda
The man you will become
L'uomo che tu diventerai
It will never be greater than the love you give
I have not forgotten the moment
Non ho dimenticato l'istante
In which I have grown up
In cui mi sono fatto grande
To defend yourself from those hands
Per difenderti da quelle mani
Even if I wore shorts
Anche se portavo i pantaloncini
Your necklace with the magic stone
La tua collana con la pietra magica
I was holding her to take you away from there
But the magic was over
Ma la magia era finita
It remained only to bite the life
Change your stars, if you try you will succeed
And remember that love never hits you in the face
My son remembers
Figlio mio ricorda
The man you will become
L'uomo che tu diventerai
It will never be greater than the love you give
You know that a wound closes and cannot be seen inside
What did you expect when you grow up, it's not late to start over
And choose a different path and remember that love is not violence
Remember to disobey and remember that it is forbidden to die, forbidden to die
Change your stars, if you try you will succeed
And remember that love never shoots you in the face
My son remembers that well
Figlio mio ricorda bene che
The life you will have
La vita che avrai
It will never be far from the love you give
Remember to disobey
Ricorda di disobbedire
Because it is forbidden to die
Perché è vietato morire
Remember to disobey
Ricorda di disobbedire
Because it is forbidden to die
Perché è vietato morire
Because it is forbidden to die
Perché è vietato morire
Forbidden to die
Vietato morire

Translation of Marco Mengoni's San Remo winning song: Due Vite
We are the only ones awake in the whole universe
And I don't know your desert well yet
Maybe it's in a place in my heart
Where the sun is always off
Where sometimes I lose you
But if I want I'll catch you
We are stuck in a time like this
Which lifts the streets
With the sky one step away from here
We are the monsters and the fairies
I should phone you
Tell you the things I feel
But I've run out of excuses
And I have no more defences
We are a book on the floor
In an empty house
That looks like our own
Coffee with lemon
Against the hangover
You look like a blurred photo
And we screwed up one more night
Outside a club
And thank goodness
If this is the last
Song and then the moon explodes
I'll be there to tell you you're wrong, you're wrong and you know it
The music doesn't come here
And you don't sleep
And where will you be, where are you going
When life then exaggerates
All the runs and slaps, the mistakes you make
When something upsets you
And I know that you never sleep, sleep, sleep, sleep, never sleep
What turns two lives take
We are the only ones awake in the whole universe
Shouting a little rage above a roof
That no one feels like this
That no one watches movies anymore
The flowers in your room
My metallic shirt
We are a book on the floor
In an empty house
That looks like our own
Lost among people
How many words
Without ever an answer
And we screwed up one more night
Outside a club
And thank goodness
If this is the last
Song and then the moon will explode
I'll be there to tell you you're wrong, you're wrong and you know it
The music doesn't come here
And you don't sleep
And where will you be, where are you going
When life then exaggerates
All the running and slapping, the mistakes you make
When something upsets you
And I know you don't sleep anyway
You turn off the light even if you don't like it
We remain in the dark surrounded
Only by the sound of the voice
Beyond the madness that dances in all things
Two lives, look at the mess
If this is the last
Song and then the moon explodes
I'll be there to tell you you're wrong, you're wrong and you know it
The music doesn't come here
And I know that you never sleep, sleep, sleep, sleep, never sleep
What turns two lives take

Alison Krauss singing Vince Gill's song and he does the harmony. The only think that disappointed me was that he didn't play more guitar. He's an absolute master, as well as being a great singer. Alison is pitch perfect every time; a beautifully "pure" voice.

How nice to find another Metallica fan. :)
How nice to find another Metallica fan. :)
I really like Metallica Angela. In the show on May 17, 2022 in BH I was there with my son. My wife and my son's girlfriend didn't go because they prefer softer music. But my son and I are huge Metallica fans. It was a beautiful show. The metal band Greta Van Fleet, also from the USA and which makes a sound inspired by Led Zeppelin, performed before Metallica. They are very young and very good. They did a sort of sound check for Metallica. A kind of tasting for the main show.
https://youtu.be/TlubORKueSs
That's typical. None of my girlfriends growing up liked that kind of music. To be fair, Metallica is probably the only metal band I like, but I did and do love not only classic rock, but hard rock, and southern rock, along with old time rhythm and blues. While I listened to that, they were listening to groups like Chicago. No offense to Chicago fans, but "YUCK"! I also really like action films and sci fi, which left most of my girl friends cold. My favorite series for years was the Dune Chronicles, which they've ruined, but that's for another day. The boys liked it that I shared some of their interests, though. :)
Musical taste wasn't the only way in which I differed from girls my age. As a little girl, I couldn't stand playing "house" and baby doll. I wanted to be a pirate or the friend of the Count of Monte Cristo, or an explorer or maybe a female spy or resistance fighter during World War II. All the stories I heard from my family made a huge impression on me. I would call my mom and ask to go home from "play dates" because I was bored. I preferred my books, fiction and non-fiction and our family stories.
Biology hi-jacked me, though. Puberty led to boys, and the make-up and dress sense I thought were needed to attract them, and when my children were born, I became the most obsessed mother on the planet, much more so than those friends who had been more "traditional" in their interests.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crhU92GKnBk
Definitely one of my favorite Metallica songs.
At the other end of the spectrum, but I've loved her for decades, although not as much as Linda Ronstadt. :)

We let our child watch this Russian cartoon, Masha and the Bear on Netflix. I have to say, I like the music for this episode! It is around the 3 min (https://youtu.be/oyLBCND6sY8?t=186) mark.
Joey Ramone died 22 years ago, on April 15th. Listening to the Ramones the last few days.
Chewing out a rhythm on my bubble gum
The sun is out and I want some
It's not hard, not far to reach
We can hitch a ride to Rockaway Beach ...
I grew up with the Ramones, the Clash, the Sex Pistols, ACDC, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Pink Floyd. But I also love classical music, and this love began when I watched Wagner's opera Der Ring des Nibelungen on television many years ago, broadcast during several days. I love Wagner, but in musical terms nothing beats Bach's St Matthew Passion for me. It is the supreme work of music. And on youtube there is an excellent version performed by the Netherlands Bach Society. When I feel down and need to concentrate and lift my spirit, this is the music I listen to.
