Death metal brings out the 20 year old in me who would buy any album that had a pentagram or zombies chewing their victims on the cd cover lol.

Well actually he's singing in Russian if you didn't know. Yeah I get what you're saying about bringing out the 20 year old in you, me it's more like bringing out the 14 year old in me. I actually listen to all kinds of different music than this most of the time. I just posted that cuz it's funny... And I can actually do these kind of vocals, it's so fun makes me feel like the Hulk or something.

I can't do it for long, my throat can only take so much abuse...especially now that allergies are running amok.

It doesn't hurt my throat at all, after you learn the technique which takes quite a lot of practise and time, weeks even months.. the hardest thing to do is pronouncing words because you're using a lot of force with your diaphragm til the veins on your neck are bulging the more loud you're trying to scream, and you kinda lower your voice box and the tip of your tongue goes up to the roof of the mouth. And you sort of compress the air in your throat and tighten your neck muscles... that's the best way I can explain it. If I don't force it hard put less volume in it it just makes a grrrr sound like a big dog and you can manipulate the sounds with the mouth and tongue.

I can do well when it comes to producing a high pitched growl a-la george fisher or most Scandinavian black or death metal vocalists lol. But my natural voice is quite low; in fact so low that those who hear it tend to underestimate my intelligence...lol. I'm speaking as someone who likes to solve complex puzzles and who has earned A's in calculus and physics...and an F in literature...lol
Listened to a lot of Pat Benatar this week-end. One of my hosts is still in love with her. :) She was definitely attractive and very sexy, on top of everything else.

Nice! Thanks for posting that! Sounds like punk, not a bad guess for someone who listens to mostly metal. I used to be into heavy black and death metal, but these days I like doom metal. Ironically, I don't have any doom metal albums (most albums I actually own are thrash and death metal CDs) bc I rely on youtube these days so I can listen for free.

Black Metal
These guys are awesome:

I'll admit, I don't recall getting really into black metal. I couldn't stand the "Gollum" voices lol but I do have Mayhem's "Dawn of the Black Hearts" which is one of million black metal bands from Scandinavia (though Mayhem is one of the best black metal bands out there-and no Gollum voice in Dawn of the Black Hearts). I also have one from Cradle of Filth which I listened to only once bc I felt that the band members were a bunch of kids dressed in gothy clothing their parents bought them. I do own a bunch of Behemoth and Morbid Angel albums which are kind of like a fusion between black and death metal.
Morbid Angel: Hell Spawn. Throughout the entire first 20 seconds of the song, I find it hard not to punch myself to the ever increasing pace of the drums/guitar!!! Don't worry folks, my head is callused enough after a long history of head injuries (two of which required surgery). My head is my most frequently injured body part-this is of no surprise to Angela lol (who would give me a lifetime of infractions should I post a song from one of Cannibal Corpse's albums....after paramedics lift her jaw from the floor).

I was really into black metal back in high school. I still listen to it, but not nearly as much. Never was a fan of the symphonic stuff too though. Most people that like black metal usually hate Cradle of Filith.
This band is from NYC, they're NYHC.

I feel bad for the lead singer of that band. A few years ago he was hit by a stray bullet, in the middle of a store robbery, that left him in a wheelchair. Nevertheless, he still plays live on stage, which is really awesome.

Dead God of the Dead
Who was old aeons before the lordship of the Dead
Was usurped by Osiris
Long before the priests of Asar
Forbade the cannibalism of the Dead
Those who could not afford to be buried
Were to be eaten or burnt
Or devoured by crocodiles
Or fed to the hyenas and Jackals
The seven who work slaughter
In the Lake of Fire who feed upon the Dead
Who hack necks to pieces
Who seize hearts and tear them from breasts
I beseech thee
Feast not upon my heart
Devour not the insides of my skull
Gorge not upon my entrails
Gnaw not upon my limbs
Tear not with your teeth the flesh from my bones
I pray to the Four Apes
Who sit at the corners of the Lake of Fire
Whose mouths vomit forth flames
To propitiate the Gods
As it was for he who walked forth from the Inferno
And wast not burned
Let me emerge unscrathed from self immolation
Let me be neither seared nor incinerated
Let me come forth unmolested
Let me not be repeatedly consumed in Pits of Fire
Let me walk forth from fire
Let me walk forth from flame unscathed
"I pray to the Four Apes
Who sit at the corners of the Lake of Fire
Whose mouths vomit forth flames"
+Infinity for fire breathing apes. Every religion needs at least one fire breathing ape. That would be sweet.

This song was the passage for me from Rock to metal,
around 1983-84,
I always liked the duo quitarists of them,
It is the time of Birmingham and Manchester,
when all Metal bands where in England,

at their top,
sexual choices and differences, made them to dismiss the band

I saw Venom inc (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Venom_(band)#Venom_Inc.). last night at the Gramercy Theater in NYC. I'm sorry, but they kind of sucked; the magic is just not there anymore. They were really great at Saint Vitus bar a few years back.
Idk if it was the acoustics, or the fact that they played too many new songs that nobody cares about. I decided to sit at the very top of the balcony, and I actually slept through some of the set (I can sleep through anything, even a metal concert). The crowd was going crazy for the older songs, but when they started playing new ones, everyone was just standing there. They even messed up really bad on a few songs, even Black Metal.
I've seen the original Venom with Cronos too. They were great when I saw them back in 2006. I saw them again in 2013 in Baltimore. But the set got cut short due to sound curfews, and a mini-riot ensued in the street; it was an outside event.

Dreams possess nightmarish figures

FROM TOMBS OF SCORN CADAVERS RISE
The story of Bouzouki Μπουζουκι
Bouzouki is the evolution of Pandura Πανδουρα
it was considered a cheap organ at ancient world,
Probably came from East mybe more east than Phrygia, from Iran
Hesychius says that came to Greece by Lydians,
yet we find such organs much before 4rth century when it took its form in Greece.
and is based on 3 strings Orphic instruments
until King Phillip B of Makedonia made it basic at night drinking fiestas
a pandura

Bouzouki Μπουζουκι
Tambouras Travel East to Iran Turks and Arabs,
became a favorite organ of Islamic world,
and evolute to Bouzouki with 3 pair strings
Return back to Greece but was considered a cheap low class and hemp smokers organ.
there were times that bouzouki was synonym of a bad casta, criminality, low IQ etc etc, drunken behavour etc
http://www.magikosaulos.gr/image/cache/data/DSCF6249-800x800.JPG
MODERn BOUZOUKI
Greeks especially from minor Asia loved bouzouki and slowly made it national organ at the times of 1950's
Great players and composers made hits or great sympjonies upon bouzouki,
my personal best performer is Lemonopoulos,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azB_4YaDjxg
another great performer is Dimitris Stergiou Μπεμπης
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XDrZQZhFq9E
both above had classical music studies so they gave bouzouki a European colour.
the third great performer Χιωτης Chiotis
was influenced by swing and mambo,
that was the alternative music, an imported wave to Greece at 1960's
so he decided to make bouzouki more fast and more complex,
he asked from organ makers to add a 4rth double string,
From that time Bouzouki reached its highest road ever,
became unbelievable, and very favorite, until the time of electric quitar.
So Greeks Chiotis and brother Panagis evolute Bouzouki to modern Bouzouki
Χιωτης Chiotis plays modern Greek Bouzouki
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZbsYiv4AN0
PS
Jimi Hendrix was fan of bouzouki
the myth says he came many times to Athens to hear Chiotis
and he was present in many big concerts of bouzouki perfformers at USA
the bellow is dedicated to those who know music,

Lovely. My favorite "slow dance" song, however, is the one I had played for the "first dance" at my wedding: Roberta Flack performing "First Time Ever I Saw Your Face." I still listen to her a lot; I love her voice.

Great song, sounds ideal for the occasion.
I like a wide variety of music, and listen to whatever fits my mood. I used to collect a lot of CDs, and cassettes when I was younger. But ever since Youtube became popular, I haven't bought anything since. Back then I would stick more to rock music. But I think the access to all of these different songs have really broadened my interests.

[*=left]Restless minds beneath the ground
Through ghostly winds I hear the sound
Crying forth in ancient tongues
Eternal quest of vengeance
From tombs of scorn cadavers rise
Angered fury in their eyes
Solemn rage, a need to kill
Feasting on holy hordes
Evil curse is carried forth zombies rage
Burning holy images in life they were
Forced to hail
Eternal flames have purified their souls
Born again in blasphemy, thy kingdom come
Twisted oath nodebliwith
Preying on those who seek the cross
Let none be pardoned for their crimes
Feeble race will die
Scripture burns in infamy
Tortured souls have been set free
Taunting he who sits on high
Pray thy kingdom come
Can I rise from my tomb of scorn when/if I die?

Yes, it sound good. It's a folk piece. They play mostly irish/scottish tunes and some spanish medieval like "Danza del Castillo" and Alfonso X's "cantigas". Arrangement by the bouzouki player.

Lately I've been dividing most of my listening time between The Ramones and The Beach Boys. When I'm in a serious mood I tend ( nowadays ) towards Siousxie and the Banshees.
The Dualers, ' Shame & Scandal', very relevant lol.

I'm in a Fabrizio DeAndre mood today. Been listening all day as I work:
Love That Comes To Me, Love That Flees
"Those days lost chasing the wind, asking for a kiss,
and wanting another hundred
one day you will remember them
love that escaped me you will come back
one day you will remember them
love that escaped me you will come back
and thou that through eyes of another color
say to me the same words of love
in a month in a year you'll forget them
love coming to me you will flee
in a month in a year you'll forget them
love coming to me you will flee
Coming from direct sunlight or frosty beaches
lost in November or the wind in summer
I loved you always, I loved you never
love coming, love going
I loved you always, I loved you never
love coming, love going

Ballad of Lost Love:
Remember? Violets were blooming
with our words
"We'll never, ever, ever leave each other".
I would like to tell you now the same things
but how quickly, love,
do roses fade, likewise for us
the love that pulls your hair out
is lost by now,
nothing is left but some listless caresses
and a little tenderness.
And when you find in your hands
those flowers faded in the sun
of a now far away April,
you'll regret them and weep
but it will be the first one you'll meet in the street
that you'll cover in gold for a kiss never given,
for a new love.
And it will be the first one you'll meet in the street
that you'll cover in gold for a kiss never given,
for a new love."
