That dance is very old,
too old,
usually it was a trilogy,

1rst dance was with women to say good bye for wifes mothers etc
2nd dance was the march the men leaving the village
3rd was training or choose partner the one with Spade Σπαθες or μαχαιρες
if you fail at this dance (3rd) or did not find battle partner, possibly your role was secondary line.
Today even women dance it,
although is an ancient dance described by Plato,
danced around the fire at night.

I was on the phone all day as phone messages were received with either good or bad news, or as some of these poor people, covered in soot and ash, were dropped off by good Samaritans who had gone to pick people up at the Bridges. There was so much anxiety and grief. So many people I knew died that day, including a few friends. One friend was supposed to have gone to a golf outing my husband was running, but decided he couldn't take time off from work. They think, from the message to his wife, that he was one of the people who leaped off the building as the fire approached him. For months it seemed as if all I did was go to funerals for one victim or another.

You're welcome Angela. I recall that day vividly as well. I was in high school when it happened, and I was in second period when we heard about the planes hitting the pentagon, and the first world trade center tower. A few blocks from the school, we went to see the view of the NYC skyline, and what we saw was unbelievable. The towers had already collapsed at that point. The Disintegration Loops is based on Basinski's attempts to salvage earlier recordings made on magnetic tape in the early 1980s by transferring them into digital format. However, the tape had deteriorated to the point that, as it passed by the tape head, the ferrite detached from the plastic backing and fell off. Thanks for posting that. Every September 11th is still tough for me. It's as if it was yesterday that the news broke. I was on the phone all day as phone messages were received with either good or bad news, or as some of these poor people, covered in soot and ash, were dropped off by good Samaritans who had gone to pick people up at the Bridges. There was so much anxiety and grief. So many people I knew died that day, including a few friends. One friend was supposed to have gone to a golf outing my husband was running, but decided he couldn't take time off from work. They think, from the message to his wife, that he was one of the people who leaped off the building as the fire approached him. For months it seemed as if all I did was go to funerals for one victim or another.

Sad song. Bruce Springsteen has a couple of songs with the same nostalgia, regret, recalling the same era. Of course, they were created when American music was still about actual music and lyrics which mean something. Bill Joel is "THE MAN". Like Springsteen, a really nice guy who never forgot where he came from.

This movie has the same vibe. Even Nicholas Cage off leash couldn't ruin it.

Meaning:

There’s a strong reciprocal special connection between an Italian mother and her children, it will never change, is unconditional and age is not a factor. At 5 or 55 the bond and the trust is unchanged.

Well, maybe not necessarily that much experience.:)

This was the salon style of my parent's tango: musical, fluid, elegant. It's very beautiful, imo, although I like other types as well, and it's probably a bit far from the tango originally danced in the brothels of Argentina and Uruguay. I can't quite imagine American cowboys competing through dance to get girls from a brothel. :) It's a particular kind of operation of the law of supply and demand.

The ending surprised me a lot. I guess those years of practice were good for the legs. :)

Venice's Church of St. Nicholas in the Lido contains small bone fragments from the saint that Venetian sailors claimed to have unearthed in 1099 at the nearly abandoned church in Myra.

The story goes that the Bari sailors who took the remains from Turkey, left some of them in Myra.

“It was essentially a holy robbery. They feared not only the locals coming after them, but also the bones and power of Nicholas. So, it seems they left some small fragments behind, which the Venetians took later.”....
