Happy side of old fashioned American Music.
Not all the songs are known overseas.
Sad songs are nice, but often depressing. lol :)
There are lots of happy old (and new) American songs. I guess I just don't post a lot of them. :)
Italians should listen to American Hispanic music. I think they'd like a lot of it.

A celebration of friendship:
Amici Miei
"When melancholy strikes you
Remember that there's someone there beside you
Life isn't always poetry
So many questions without answers...
But there is richness in friendship
An eternal treasure
Put aside your sadness
Sing with us, and it will pass
My friends,
Always ready to give me a hand
From near or far
These are my friends
Perhaps few but true,
I'm never alone in my troubles
These are my friends.
When your melancholy returns,
Sing this song along with us
Your sadness will then depart
And you'll find in us your true friends.
At times it only takes a single word
Said to a friend who is down.
A smile can turn a life around
And help someone to carry on.
My friends,
Always ready to lend a hand
From near and far
My friends.

Why me Lord
https://youtu.be/f38gW5Jm-Hs
”Why me Lord, what have I ever done
To deserve even one
Of the pleasures I've known
Tell me Lord, what did I ever do
That was worth loving you
Or the kindness you've shown.
Lord help me Jesus, I've wasted it so
Help me Jesus I know what I am
Now that I know that I've need you so
Help me Jesus, my soul's in your hand.
Tell me Lord, if you think there's a way
I can try to repay
All I've taken from you
Maybe Lord, I can show someone else
What I've been through myself
On my way back to you.
Lord help me Jesus, I've wasted it so
Help me Jesus I know what I am
Now that I know that I've need you so
Help me Jesus, my soul's in your hand.”

Know when to walk away

You never count your money

There'll be time enough for countin'

Very cool, Salento. The name of the band next is Skank. They are my fellow countrymen from Belo Horizonte. This song was very successful in Brazil. I think the clip is a little daring for the conservative Puritan standards, but in Brazil, any child watches that and the clip is considered naive. I could translate the title of the song as national girl, or, if you prefer, Brazilian women.

This is one of the best songs I've heard in a long time. I'm not sure if it's a tribal song, a warrior calling his people to battle, or a sort of nouveau Appalachian work gang song or what. Men certainly seem to react viscerally to it.
Change on the rise-Avi Kaplan
It has everything going for it: meaningful lyrics, seductive beat, and the deep, resonant, clear bass of Avi Kaplan, with his incredible ability to inject emotion into his work. I just love, love, love his voice. It grabs me right in the gut.
Just to add to it all, he did all the background tracks as well, showing his unbelievable vocal range.
Oh, and as a music video it's brilliantly done.

All actual religious feeling aside, this is the patrimony of the west. How much poorer it would be if we didn't have the wonderful sacred music created by so many Europeans.
Here in New York there is performance after performance of sacred Christian music (as there is at Christmas) and probably half the performers and attendees are Jewish. :)

Got into a big fight with Sile when I posted that (maybe my favorite tango clip). :) He told me it wasn't "real" tango. Well, it's not the tango my parents danced and that my dad taught me, but it's wonderful all the same.
Thanks for the additional clips. I like the electronic tango music, but they're a little "out there" for me in terms of dance style. :) I'd pull every hair out of my daughter's head if I ever saw her go out to a dance club dressed like that.
I don't know what a real expert like you would think, but I love the following. I don't think there's a single style of tango I don't like. In my next life I'm going to be a great tango dancer.:)

You just posted my favorite Far Western music. Even better than the main theme imo.
Since we're on the mood, here is another one, now from Gianni Ferrio.
Un Dollaro Bucato
https://youtu.be/3hk-QGsx9yw
Phenomenal whistlers
When I was a boy, about 14 years old, the entire school I attended, Goliad Junior High School in Big Spring, Texas, was called into the gymnasium to listen to a guy whistle. According to him, he was the man did all the whistling in Bridge Over the River Kwai, and much else as well. I don't know what the educational intent was, but he was pretty good.
In my next life I'm going to be a great tango dancer.:)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4G03HpzArc
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oN0o_ZgdCL0
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xAaPkOYiQWcWhy would I be an expert? Not at all. Just a fan, as you.
The use of the term "cleaning", just kidding, was inserted in a certain context. ;)
I'm not really a dancer though, and not just of tango. This limitation probably came from paternal side, which ironically is much more attached to music. Maternal side, on the other hand, generally makes better dancers, but not "musicians".:) Why am I saying this? Well, obviously I like a lot to watch dances, but I tend to like the musics themselves even more. And I won't lie. Generally I prefer the traditional, which doesn't mean I don't like the others, or the "moderns". I do, and that's why I posted them. I didn't know you had already done it, btw. :)
So, no problem in comparisons, however, we don't need to do it all the time. If we're not doing some kind of "study" or specific analysis, if we're just having fun or a good moment, in fact there is no need to do it. Plus, the names, the genders, are mainly references, and they don't matter that much as just names. In short, what I mean is that we just like the music or don't like it, no matter how it's classified. Time ago I've been in a pizzaria in occasion of a birthday, and there was a Neapolitan there. He just refused to try the Brazilian pizza, because it's different. While I understood and respected the preference itself, I almost said: dude, never mind how you call it; create a name if you prefer, but put a damn piece into your mouth, taste it and see if you like, as a pie or whatever. ah ah ah If still he hadn't like it, ok. No problem. Well, I don't blame him. We're all inclined to do it, even if inadvertently.
Same with coffee. It's like you don't drink the boiled only because you like more the Espresso. je je Point is... Imagine if we listened, ate, visited etc. just what we like the most... No. No sense.
I just decided next time I'll try the American boiled coffee as a kind of tea. Maybe I'll like it so. ah ah ah
That said, the list you posted is really a mix. :) And it's good, yes. Thanks for sharing. I didn't know most of them.
And Piazzolla (nuevo tango) is a "classic", so to speak! No comments! :)
Cheers

Just love Buenos Aires, btw. My main destination in the last years. I've been there four times between 2011 and 2016, and also in other parts of Argentina. I've been in the hippodrome where supposedly Gardel was inspired for "Por Una Cabeza".
Like "fatty" parrillada so much that sometimes I ate it twice a day there, with a good Malbec, one of my favorites together with Tempranillo (back to home I had to "burn" it all, lol). Also liked to watch tango presentations, naturally.
Now I have to visit the main destinations of your Uruguay. I know just Rio Branco so far.

@Angela.
Chico is considered the best lyricist of Brazilian popular music. I do not think he's a great singer, but his lyrics are true poems, which makes up for his deficiency in the voice. He is author of books, plays and made history with Tom Jobim and João Giberto in the "Bossa Nova". He is a master.
He is the man who can best portray the female universe. There is a musical that was very successful in Brazil called "Women of Holland" where only the songs that he composed and that portray the female universe are exhibited. Unmissable. Women of Athens is one of the songs that is in the repertoire of the musical :)

I love her too. She does a nice version of it, but Modugno puts more heartbreak into it. Well, life does that to one.
I have probably given a wrong impression. My husband showers me with gifts and flowers, and even poems back in the day, but...demanding, hot-headed, stubborn, jealous, set on winning every argument and having his own way, yes. You accept the bad as well as the good in marriage, and the "bad" has been more than compensated for by passion, compassion, kindness, loyalty, strong family feeling, a fierce paternal instinct, responsibility, ambition at work and on and on. He can't help it: it's in the genes. :)
Nor, obviously, am I perfect. I will say, however, that it's lucky for him, as he's very often been told, that he married someone from Italy. His rejoinder is usually that luck had nothing to do with it. He's always known what he wanted, even to the fighting back. :)
There, way too much information. You always do it to me.

typical and always stable in their style,
little bit more dancing moments than before
(they remind me Kraftwerk a lot here)
after 10 years of silence,
maybe also their last?
anyway, even from the promo of the album,

typical Rammstein,
personally, I like them and also dispite them a lot,
but they manage to make me shock and think,
rather to flow melodies to my ears.

@Duarte I'm sure you know, but for those who don't know the Hibernians are the Irish, not the Iberians :)
@Salento.
Thank you for clarifying dear friend :)
I made a little big mistake. I interpreted the figure of human faces in the sense that the Irish were "inferior and ugly" because they had mixed up in Iberia and migrated to Ireland (I had a bit of trouble reading the subtitle of the figure). I was furious because it is known that a current of historians defends the thesis that the Celts arrived in the British Isles from the Iberia peninsula and it is no secret to anyone that the Celtiberian culture dominated to Iberia before the arrival of the Romans. I really confused Hibernia with Iberia and in that sense I understood that racist hatred against the Irish was extensive to the Iberians. But in any case, racism is always deplorable, no matter against whom. And I ask apologize for, between the lines of what I said, to have offended all the Anglo-Saxons of the USA.
I know that racism is born of some people's unhealthy spirit and we can not blame a whole people for it. It was an unhappy rapture on my part.

Very fun. :)
Swing is my favorite "North American" original dance.
The original:

Absolutely great re-enactment of that style: I love these two little people; the woman, in particular, has sass and personality to spare, which is great for this dance.

God gave rock&roll to us through the KISS - I LOVE THESE GUYS - much more in nowadays because the brazilian neopentecostals hate them. Another rock band (trash metal) hated by these people that say that they are servants of God is the SEPULTURA of Belo Horizonte. Of course that God will be waiting the brazilian neopentecostals on Judgment Day to kick them stairway down to hell. The rock’n’roll is divine. And now, with all of you, the rock’n’roll band SEPULTURA. They are sons of the Garden City, my homeland, Belo Horizonte:

it is said that it is based upon a Yenissaries march
Well
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okkJXZlRZ3g
the only one I could found simillar is this the Hucum Marci, an attacking march
Do you believe that this was the theme that Mozart work about and made the Rondo alla Turca?
