Mobile phones have been part of our life.We all need them, but the radiation can not be ignoerd.So.i wonder that can mobile phones effect our DNA?:useless:

I suppose it would if you wear them near the pelvic area. The sperm and eggs would be affected but minimally as your clothes could absorb or lessen the radiation. Have lead threads woven into the pant pockets like in the microwave ovens screens and lessen the radiation. But I am just speculating.

Don't you think that after 40 years, so far, using cell phones this would be noticed?

Radio waves, microwaves, infrared and visual light are not energetic enough to make atoms jump out of order screwing our DNA. Only spectrum from UV up can do that, causing skin cancers. This includes X-rays and Gamma rays.

Many readers might be surprised to learn that studies confirming DNA damage due to cellular radiation were conducted over 30 years ago. The research work of Dr. Mays Swicord in 1983, at the University of Maryland, which was sponsored by both the Office of Naval Research and the FDA, demonstrated the heightened effect of non-ionizing radiation on DNA as opposed to its exposure to water. The study stated that: “Based on the concentration of the DNA solution which gave 40% more absorption than pure water at 8 GHz, the microwave absorption of DNA at this frequency is 24 times greater than for an equivalent mass of water.” This type of research is key to understanding why the current non-biological liquid solutions used by the FCC to determine SAR safety levels are woefully inadequate. As the Swicord study demonstrated, water does not respond to microwave exposure anywhere near the degree to that of DNA. In short, DNA based testing material is a pre-requisite to establishing adequate SAR safety standards for cell phone radiation exposure.

The effect of mobile phone radiation on human health is the subject of recent interest and study, as a result of the enormous increase in mobile phone usage throughout the world. As of November 2011, there were more than 6 billion subscriptions worldwide.[1] Mobile phones use electromagnetic radiation in the microwave range. Other digital wireless systems, such as data communication networks, produce similar radiation.
In 2011, International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) classified mobile phone radiation as Group 2B - possibly carcinogenic (not Group 2A - probably carcinogenic - nor the dangerous Group 1). That means that there "could be some risk" of carcinogenicity, so additional research into the long-term, heavy use of mobile phones needs to be conducted.[2] The WHO added that "to date, no adverse health effects have been established as being caused by mobile phone use."[3] Some national radiation advisory authorities[4] have recommended measures to minimize exposure to their citizens as a precautionary approach.

It was 30 years ago, a long enough time for other scientists to confirm his research. Was it confirmed by others? If not, this is a faulty study.
Many scientists falsify their studies for various reasons. Mainly for grants and fame. That's why every study needs to be duplicated and confirmed by others.

Only time will tell. There is already a proliferation of obesity, Autism, and various diseases. There are so many electrical devices in our homes TV, computers, microwaves, radios, heaters, fans, etc. which all produce EMF. Also with all the chemicals in foods. I am not surprised by all the ailments people have. The electronic industry is very powerful. Even a talk show host lost her job discussing cell phone radiation. ATT, ITT, Microsoft, Intel, Google, Apple General Electric are the biggest corporations in the world.

My point was that it already been 30 years since. Enough time to tell, to do another research to confirm. In this case it only means one thing, this research is no good, because nobody could duplicate it. Good science you can repeat, repeat and repeat.

All of this from electromagnetic waves? Mind you that visible light is even more powerful electromagnetic radiation than microwaves and radio waves. Shouldn't we worry about visible light more?

And yet, people live longer and longer, thanks to big pharma and electronic companies, who create technology to save us. Otherwise, maybe you can enlighten us why people live longer every generation since technological revolution picked up the pace in 19th century.

Look here. Doring cell phone "revolution" of last 40 years we live longer and longer

And look here, life expectancy increases with income per capita. Meaning rich nations with lot of technology from big corporations and big pharma live longer and longer with every decade.

Are you a hypocrite? Immediately throw away your computer and your cell phone and all made by corporations. Don't you see, that all they want is to kill you?

Nuts.

The study, called REFLEX, which stands for Risk Evaluation of Potential Environmental Hazards from Low Energy Electromagnetic Field Exposure Using Sensitive in vitro Methods, was a four-year, $4 million-plus research project majority-funded by the European Union. Results of the research project, which ended in May, were published on the Internet earlier this month.

"We have proven that electromagnetic fields--in high and low frequencies--damage cells in individual cell systems," says Franz Adlkofer, executive director of the Munich-based Verum Foundation for Behavior and Environment, which coordinated the REFLEX research project. "But these results can't be readily transferred to human beings. Isolated cell systems are something entirely different from complete organisms."

I think it may if we always keep a cell phone nearby. The effect may not be that serious, but as time goes by, our future generation may suffer some gene related diseases caused by cell phone. Maybe we can detect the effects by biotech engineering like genome sequencing, so as to figure out how much can cell phone effect our DNA.

Yeah, sourcing from my dad; whom works on telecommunications. Cell Phones and other tech can't compare to sunlight, it's even been Governmentally tested apparently.
However if we are having problems with radiation, I can't imagine that we wouldn't evolve.

Do you have a source for such accusations?
