How to go deep into R-M269 Roots?

Good day to everyone here!

I'm from Italian, Spanish and Portuguese ancestry and I took the family tree dna test to see if my deep roots really come from those places.
It turns out that my Y-DNA is R-M269, but as I've been learning, I can't really say from which people that came from, since it is widespread throughout great part of western Europe. What I would need some help with is: Do I need to take the SNP's test to get more detailed info on that, or other test? And if so, how can I do it if I don't really know which SNP's to take?

Thank you very much! One question: By taking the y-dna marker test, would I be able to see If I'm, for exemple, R1b1a2a1a2a, R1b1a2a1a2b or R1b1a2a1a2e and on ?

At the moment Familytree have launched a cheap (ish) Group Snip test specifically for M269s, costs about $80 . So you should be able to push your lineage a lot deeper. I am M269 too and have just signed up. Will let you know outcome if you wish.
