Juan López Peñalver.
Engineer, scientist and economist born in Malaga in 1763. Author of several books, he stood out for treating with mathematical criteria all the topics of his interest, such as economic ones, something that was unusual at that time. In addition, he participated in the measurement tasks that were carried out prior to the formulation of the Decimal Metric System. He died in 1835.

Bernardo Giner de los Ríos.

Malagueño since 1941. Expert engineer in photovoltaic solar energy. In addition, Professor of Physical Electronics at the Polytechnic University of Madrid. Founder, director and current president of the Institute of Solar Energy of this university. The Malaga-based manufacturer of photovoltaic cells Isofotón has also been founded. He has received numerous awards and his career is full of milestones, such as the construction of the first laser in Spain.

Francisco de la Torre Acosta
He was born in Frigiliana in 1911. He was an engineer, businessman and teacher. He was part of the Association of Friends of the University of Malaga, which claimed a university for the city. He developed projects for companies in the industrial sector, such as Taillefer, Ruperto Heaton or Renfe workshops. As Chief Engineer of the Electrical and Mechanical Services of the City Council of Malaga, he developed a street and avenue lighting plan that would bring light to all corners of Malaga. He also made the artistic lighting of monuments such as the Gibralfaro Castle or the Alcazaba. He died in 1969.
