The quality of what can be recorded is getting better and better all the time.

I love this hike; it's from Portovenere near La Spezia to the Cinque Terre. The visuals are outstanding but then you have to imagine the smells of the sea and the macchia's herbs and flowers...it really is paradise for me.

The Cinque Terre is one of my favourite places in Italy. I have been there a few years ago. The other places you listed are great too.

I'm so glad you liked it. This whole coast has been popular with the British for a couple of hundred years, most notably Byron and Shelly, I suppose, hence why the Bay of La Spezia is called Il Golfo dei Poeti, but I can still remember my father taking me to quiet little Lerici and going with my grandmother to Monterosso in the Cinque Terre every summer, where she went for her arthritis. The latter were sleepy little villages, although of course still breathtakingly beautiful.

Sometimes, when I'm home in August and want to go for the day, and have to battle the crowds from all over the world and especially the U.S. I get a little cranky, but on balance I'm pleased to share a place I love with other people.

I made a mistake upthread. This is the drone video of Portovenere. Half my family gets married there. Not only does it make for gorgeous wedding pictures and videos, but it's the Port of Venus, after all. :) See what I mean about they should shoot Game of Thrones there?

I'm now officially in love with drone video.

For anyone who hasn't seen it, I really love this set of videos too.
