So after all we got a skin mutation from Neanderthals in BNC2 gene. So many people didn't want to believe when I predicted this.

BCN2 has recently been shown to influence skin pigmentation levels in Europeans.

I did say light skin ppl got their light skin mutation from Neanderthals in this thread. Dark skin consumes more energy, fair skin evolved to save energy for other organs (?)

the picture is still blurry but it hints that way
I think the picture will become much clearer the coming years

What else is interesting to mention is that they again emphasised that all together people carry more than 3% of Neanderthal DNA. My 3% could be very different than the next person 3%. If we collected all Neanderthal DNA from all modern Europeans we could put together most of Neanderthal DNA. Isn't it amazing? However there are sections of human DNA which completely miss Neanderthal DNA. Meaning that human DNA, in this part of chromosome, was essential of being human, being a superior mutation in comparison to theirs. One of such sectors of DNA with only ancient human DNA is responsible for speech development. I guess, Homo Sapiens Sapiens were the sweet talkers. :) I'm so looking forward to info on other regions not containing their DNA. I'm expecting cognition and socialisation being implicated as well.
Conversely there are regions of our chromosomes persistently populated by Neanderthal DNA, to the point that most Europeans carried them around till today. That points to transfer very useful or superior genes to humans, and natural selection embracing them. Mostly in places like immune system, skin and diet. Helping HSS's adaptation to new environment.
Looking at the big picture, we can't escape a conclusion, that most of Neanderthal DNA was of no consequence to people, to human genome. Containing alleles, which were not better or worse than HSS's ones. A little different in form and expression but likewise useful and likewise working well.
2-3% amount of their DNA, in every one of us, points to the ratio of Neanderthals to Humans during mixing, and final level left in Paleolithic humans after last mixing event. And it is pretty much steady since. Calculations point to at least 3 such events of mixing.
