Could learning how to sew have helped early Modern Humans survive?

it's a pitty the article doesn't mention in which sites the evidence was found and what is the dating

there is evidence of such clothing in Mal'ta culture, but that is an area where no Neanderthals ever have been signaled

Aurignacians had few needles, Gravettians had a lot more and had borers to drill eyes in the needles which was much more efficient than grinding them

My mom helped me pass home economics when I was in grade 7. Sewing is not my forte.
