If you want to learn about South Asia's West Eurasian mtDNA this is the place to go.
mtDNA Atlas: South Asia's West Eurasian mtDNA (http://mtdnaatlas.blogspot.com/2017/01/south-asias-west-eurasian-mtdna.html)
It's mostly Middle Eastern, probably Iran Neolithic. Nonetheless a dose of Steppe mtDNA is irrefutably there, especially in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Kalash mtDNA is ridden with founder effects but the majority of those founder effects are Steppe lineages, including two close matches(U4b1a2 with catacomb, U2e1h with Andronovo). Close to 50% of South Asia's West Eurasian mtDNA belongs to clades which have already been found in ancient Iran and Steppe.
