New Post at my Blog: Spain, Past and Present
The same mHG frequency changes which occurred in Spain occurred in much of Europe. What caused these changes to occur? It's really a mystery. Migration a lone I don't think can explain, I think natural selection played a part.
Modern Spain does have typical NW African and Steppe lineages which Neolithic Spain didn't but...It has as much T1a, I, H6, and other apparently Steppe lineages as pretty much all of Europe. U5a though shows a correlation with Steppe ancestry. But there's really hardly any mHG frequency variation in Europe, what could explain this? I think natural selection can explain it.
