"Lincolnshire Live reports that roadwork has uncovered a 20-foot log boat that may be 4,000 years old. A wood sample has been sent for radiocarbon dating. The vessel was found in a silted-up channel of the Witham River, with the prow slightly higher than the stern, which suggests that it had been pulled ashore. The prow is not as well preserved as the stern, perhaps because it was exposed to the air while the rear of the vessel was covered by the swampy riverbank. The vessel was probably made by splitting a tree trunk in half with wedges, then hollowing out half of it with flint or metal tools, and then, possibly, subjecting it to controlled burning. Slots cut into the stern of the boat would have held a transom board to square it off."

How long before this thread turns into theorizing that it's a Indoeuropean Kurgan boat from the Yamna steppes.

Lol even if someone does theorize that theory, my theory that the boat is an ugly piece of garbage still stands! Lol!

Im not so sure, it's a hard pill to swallow to say that this canoe actually came from the Yamna culture and sailed all the way to England in 2,000 BC. Such a trip in 2000BC would be like a legendary voyage and quite a sea tale to brag about. However in 2000BC some descendants of the Yamna Horizon were migrating to the Isles during the time so perhaps the boat could be from an Indoeuropean/Infoeuropeanized clan but that's not guaranteed. The Pesse Canoe was radiocarbon dated to roughly 8000 BC in Mesolithic Netherlands so Mesolithic Europeans were already making canoes. This means that the boat could also be from one of the Bell Beaker/Megalithic cultures; Bell Beaker Culture was around until 1800BC, or cultures surrounding former Doggerland.
