View Full Version : Regional Populations for NG 2.0 Helix Version
http://i.imgur.com/WM11s10.png
Here's something I put together, based on this chart, and the areas described in the test in my autosomal results.
Could other people please share the graphics of any region I don't have here. Google images doesn't have anything, and National Geographic hasn't updated their population reference chart since the last version.

This girl talks about her autosomal breakdown. In it she discusses her Western Mediterranean and Jewish diaspora components.

we can see that her total dna match fit are :
german { but the german refernce score 16% jewish diaspora}
tuscan { the tuscan reference score 15% eastern europe }

These are screen caps I took from this business insider review (http://www.businessinsider.com/what-the-national-geographic-geno-20-ancestry-test-with-helix-is-like-2017-3/#the-reference-populations-threw-me-off-too-german-dutch-where-was-this-coming-from-vilar-said-the-reference-populations-gave-me-a-snapshot-of-how-similar-i-am-to-people-alive-today-living-in-certain-countries-matching-my-family-history-wasnt-necessarily-the-point-13) of the product. Initially, they used orange for the Northwestern European component. Now it is dark blue.

These were from the reference populations from my results. I wrote in the (Bari region) part though, in paint. Also, I'm only one person, so it's not a definitive representation of the area.
I guess the reference populations don't necessarily reflect every person in those respective regions. In the case of Greece, some areas would have less Eastern European, and more southern European.

I believe it was because the process was different. The old way was with genotyping, and the new version is done with sequencing.

Here's an updated version of the Regional populations, represented on the modern PCA chart.
Some updates for the Raw Data. Before Year End?
https://twitter.com/my_helix/status/928679680219136000
That's interesting, it will be about 80 GBs of raw data.
However, I wonder what programs will even be compatible with it.

Or, maybe the Download, will be Limited to the Geno 2 Helix Results.
We’ll see. Hope is free, but probably not.
NatGeo Helix Raw Data is now downloadable.

I’ve downloaded mine. Any suggestions how to interpret it. It’s not compatible with gedmatch or myheritage...
Thanks

It seems that the Raw Data is partially incomplete, and the format is incompatible with the mainstream companies. I hope that NatGeo Helix fix the problem.

Are there any updates to when the raw data will be complete? Or at the very least when a program will be able to analyze the current available data?

At NatGeo my Neanderthal is 1.4%.
I wasn’t assigned any Denisovan.
Slight difference between the Website and the App.

Thanks Selena, ... though the NatGeo site has been closed.
The NatGeo based video below is a Tribute to our Ancestors, and even if it contains my results, more or less, symbolically they represent the results of many of us :)
