I'm looking for any information on MT DNA U1A1. Both sides of my family are from Sicily and despite lots of searching, I have yet to find any real information on this haplotype. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello there Frankie, welcome to Eupedia. I did some searching and apparently somebody here was also wondering the same thing a year ago. Apparently this Mtdna is really rare Here is Wikipedia's description of Mtdna U1. :) Considering Mtdna U1 is also found in India, it is a likely possibility that your direct Maternal line comes from the Yamna Horizon. My mother's maternal family is from Sicily.
My father maternal side are Dyson's from Louisiana. His father's family is from Denmark. Would I know more than this?
