That's the thing about visionaries: on not much evidence they can intuit some connections not seen by most people. He was absolutely correct that the switch to agriculture impacted adaptation and therefore evolution in myriad ways, as we're only discovering recently.

What is not enough emphasized is that he made so many of these leaps with such limited tools at his disposal.
