Germany ends South Korean dream

Evil tongues claimed that once a game is properly refereed, Koreans lost.
;)

The show of patriotism by Korean soccer fans was slightly disturbing. While Japanese fans also supported foreign teams, similar behaviour could not be expected of the "Red Devils": today Korean police confiscated a huge swastika banner and other Nazi devotionalia carried by Korean fans in order to "greet" the German soccer team.

A world cup host in a patriotic frenzy?

Wasn't there also a bar in Seoul full of Nazi-flags and portraits of Adolf Hitler? I saw it on the news a few years back.
The sad thing is, is that most Koreans haven't got a clue of what happened during the Holocaust.

Yeah, I remember that story. I think the bar was called "Third Reich" and was closed after the Israeli Embassy in Seoul vehemently protested.

Ignorance is their only excuse...

Hm, I think that the fans depicted above were a small minority. However, as you said before, I also disliked the constant booing, not acceptable for a host country.

Wow, I remember the Turkish fans celebrating in the streets here, hehe. It sure was a small lesson of humility for the Koreans.
