The FAQ’s detail there significance as follows: ‘Blue dots link to a clearly defined set of ancient peoples. Red dots refer to ancient samples where identity is difficult to determine based on archaelogical evidence. Faded dots mean distant connection, brighter dots mean very close DNA distance...

I like this site a lot and particularly like the archaeological links the maps give. The site is pretty consistent (with a couple of notable exceptions) in the results it gives for differing sets of raw data as can be shown in the results below: 1. Me (Ancestry DNA) Celt + Frank...

    Zz37 & z40481

Quick question guys. I've tested as being R-BY20474 positive via FGC Elite 2.1 and also at YSEQ. I've also tested as being positive for BY20464 (FGC72622) at FGC. FTDNA has this SNP listed in their tree as being under ZZ37 as does Alex's P312 tree, with the routes being...

LivingDNA Living DNA Raw Data - Now Available

It looks like GEDmatch will accept vcf files after all, via their new Genesis beta. I've just been able to upload my raw data there without problem. Whilst there are no admixture tools available on Genesis as yet, I'm hopeful that they will be added in due course.

LivingDNA Living DNA Raw Data - Now Available

Living DNA Raw Data files are now available to download from their site. I downloaded mine earlier and must admit to being somewhat disappointed with it. The Y-SNP data appears to only show the SNP's I tested positive for and doesn't list the other SNP's they tested. This renders the data...

Ordering a single test through YSEQ - help needed please

Living DNA have provided me with the following Y-DNA results: L151+ (U106-, P312-, & S1200-). This leaves the potential option of the A8051 line being a route to help determine my terminal SNP. Yfull have listed A8062 below A8051 in the YTree (with A8058 and A8069 being shown as equivalent...

Philosophy Looking for Good Books on Philosophy

Nigel Warburton is a very engaging writer and I'd recommend his book 'Philosophy: The Classics' over his other works. Anthony Kenny's 'A New History of Western Philosophy' is also an excellent read and I think that these two books, along with Bertrand Russell's, would serve as a very good...

    V15a

I've recently received a LivingDNA mtDNA result of Haplogroup V with a subclade of V15a and have read the Haplogroup V guide listed on this site. Whilst I found the guide to be very useful and informative, I have not, though, been able to find out much more information regrading V15a...

    L151 & p310

I've recently received the results of a LivingDNA test which has given me a y-DNA Haplogroup of R-M269 with a subclade of R-L151. I'm new to the world of genetic testing and have a question about L-151. I've been guided onto the R-L151 YTree on yfull.com which lists a number of other...
