Will you pretty please stop torturing me with lists of delicious cheeses? I have only been able to tolerate a nibble here and there for about ten years! In the immortal words of Jennifer Lawrence aka Tiffany in The Silver Linings Playbook, "You're Killing Me!"
Last night, all anybody wanted to listen to was “Soul Music”. It never gets old

:thinking:Angela you will not believe this. I was just about going to write in your Tuscan food delights that "you're Killing me"....Im on a diet and food porn does not help!. Then I stumble into this. Hmm I only eat cheese on VERY special occasions as much as l love it, + recently I have discovered I am more and more lactose intolerant :sad-2: although I was told very hard cheeses have very little lactose :innocent:.
Not music, but a funny little sketch called Angry Yoga.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=BH0l4FlZT-A
That was too funny! I just loved it, Aberdeen.
In the interests of full disclosure, I absolutely loathe yoga...I suppose because it just doesn't work for me.. So, like the lady in the video, I either start thinking about everybody and everything that has ****** me off lately, or I start making lists of everything I have to do, or I start worrying about my children, or I start gnawing at some intellectual problem like the dratted Indo-Europeans or something. Not what you're supposed to be doing...and the more they tell me to relax the madder I get!
Yes, that one seems to strike a chord with a lot of people. It's a clip from a Canadian comedy show called "This Hour Has 22 Minutes". If you look for "22 Minutes" on Youtube, there's lots of their stuff there. Not all of it makes me laugh, but some of it is really funny.
Let It Go-

(For the record, I really don't like the Demi Lovato version, and neither does my daughter, through whom I was introduced to this song.)

So this years winner of the Junior eurovison is the very talented Vincenzo Cantiello, a very nice typical Italian tune, reminds me of the style from Mia Martini. Bulgaria placed second, Armenia third and Malta forth. Cyprus song was very good and surely deserved a better place. But all these young singers are so amazing for their age.
I'm not normally a fan of young kids singing adult tunes with adult mannerisms, but you're right, he's an amazing performer for someone his age, and he does have a Mia Martini sort of vibe...he's even the same type physically.Quote:

I saw this on youtube a while ago and saved it. It's a Mia Martini medley from before she ruined her voice. Minuetto starts about 8:30.

I should have posted this song on the "Why Do You Love Someone" Thread. :)

Very nice, Aberdeen. I like finding new groups. :)
Shania Twain....Sassy and Sweet, Naughty and Nice. Not great art, but great for certain times and places...

From the AMA music awards:
Sam Smith: I'm Not The Only One

They should never him sing in public again. He was so much worse in person at the AMA awards. I may decide not to like him anymore.
Speaking of the AMA Awards, I'm not sure what to make of Lorde...

Even Mary J. Blige was disappointing. It sounded like an Adela song.

As for the rest....I don't get it at all, even on the level of mindless music. Selena Gomez? Angel wings? Really? Ariana Grande? IGGY??? How do you spell GROSS.

Here's the kind of stuff I listen to when I'm feeling nostalgic.
Roger Daltrey - After The Fire
www.youtube.com/watch?v=8tg4jQAZ_cw
Sarah McLachlan - I Will Remember You
www.youtube.com/watch?v=nSz16ngdsG0
I don't let go of things I love easily. I play them quite often, especially when I need soothing, and given the news, I needed soothing. There's a lot of wisdom as well as poetry in their songs, but people don't really listen. I also love Art's vocals...that sort of choir boy sound.
Anyway, I love Sarah MacLachan, and especially that song. I like Roger Daltry too, although I haven't played him for a long time.
I play Springsteen a lot...still going to his concerts too, and probably will continue to go even if he comes out with a walker.http://cdn.eupedia.com/forum/images/...n/laughing.gif
He sings about fire too, of course:
I'm On Fire:

The ones that I actually was playing last night were these however...they seemed apropos.
