"If I Die Young"-The Band Perry
"If I die young, bury me in satin
Lay me down on a bed of roses
Sink me in a river at dawn
Send me away with the words of a love song
Uh oh, uh oh
Lord make me a rainbow, I'll shine down on my mother
She'll know I'm safe with you when she stands under my colors, oh,
And life ain't always what you think it ought to be, no
Ain't even grey, but she buries her baby
The sharp knife of a short life, oh well
I've had just enough time
If I die young, bury me in satin
Lay me down on a bed of roses
Sink me in the river at dawn
Send me away with the words of a love song
The sharp knife of a short life, oh well
I've had just enough time
And I'll be wearing white, when I come into your kingdom
I'm as green as the ring on my little cold finger,
I've never known the lovin' of a man
But it sure felt nice when he was holdin' my hand,
There's a boy here in town, says he'll love me forever,
Who would have thought forever could be severed by...
...the sharp knife of a short life, oh well?
I've had just enough time
So put on your best, boys, and I'll wear my pearls
What I never did is done
A penny for my thoughts, oh, no, I'll sell 'em for a dollar
They're worth so much more after I'm a goner
And maybe then you'll hear the words I been singin'
Funny when you're dead how people start listenin'
If I die young, bury me in satin
Lay me down on a bed of roses
Sink me in the river at dawn
Send me away with the words of a love song
Uh oh (uh, oh)
The ballad of a dove (uh, oh)
Go with peace and love
Gather up your tears, keep 'em in your pocket
Save 'em for a time when you're really gonna need 'em, oh
The sharp knife of a short life, oh well
I've had just enough time
So put on your best, boys, and I'll wear my pearls."

Cool song lol
Sweet country pop song, I seem to go back listening to this music once in a while, depending on mood of course. They remind me of Lady Antebellum. Never alone was my favorite and used to listen to alot. The Lyrics where just perfect to a situation I was in at the time, but the music was good too.
............that Charlie Para is awesome, thats a great guitar piece. Very talented.Quote:

I thought it was appropriate given they're burying so many young people, even little children, after the attacks in Nice.

This atrocity is hitting me particularly hard because I go there so often. I love southern France; it's sort of my second European home after Italy. Stupid, I know, but when I saw pictures of that truck parked on the Promenade des Anglais near the Negresco, I got literally nauseous. I had been seriously considering going to Europe early this year, and perhaps being in France for Bastille Day. I lived through 9/11, and lost people I cared about, and now I feel as if I almost lived through this.
I mean look at this:

Also, I listen to a lot of American country. I always liked it, but I like it more as I get older. At least some of them have good lyrics, unlike most of rap or heavy metal, most of which I hate.
There are no words to explain (continued here http://www.eupedia.com/forum/threads...389#post484389)
Paper Scissor Stone - Portico Quartet
Great piece of music, from this talented London based group.
Yes, as I've admitted, I listen to the "Oldies" station when I'm in the car. Here's one of the best: "That Old Time Rock and Roll"-Bob Seger.
I think of it as great, windows open, cruising in the car kind of music, although it's great at summer pool and beach parties too, and summer concerts.
Here is the original version, and then there's a link to Jersey Boy Jon Bon Jovi and Kid Rock...so fun. :) He's like, what, 50, here? He's definitely still got it. :)

It perfectly work with me for sunday evening.
Jan Garbarek- Rites.
Actually it was not my first choice at that time(garbarek) but i possibly motivated from the previous posts about France's iterrible incident. Allthough from the video I really touched with the young tearing soldier, (about at ~2:50)
My first thought was music for the car, summer time, etc., but I instictively i change my thought.
Whatever it was a strange day as also a strange week (-moonstroked; to say?)
Try this:
"Le peuple migrateur" is the album.

SO? What's the problem? :annoyed: It all seems perfectly normal.
(Instant translation: Do you think I'm stupid? You sing me songs...you're beautiful...then...No,no,no...I won't accept this. It's not possible. It annoys me. I have to be the only one...You have to look only at me...It's not possible that you look at someone else...We're going out...there's only you and me...there's no respect here...)
I won't translate the rest, as we have to keep it PG-13.
Their relationship is going nowhere; he's so clueless and awkward and milk toast. We need worthy opponents in the battle of the sexes.

Vasco Rossi: Tango della Gelosia
It's what I feel inside, like a sickness that I don't even understand. But tell me a lie, what does it matter, as long as you're mine. The rest, it's folly, a fantasy, my fault and basta. Just don't go away from me; stay close to me. Even with your glances stay close to me when you sit beside me. (Or perhaps it could even be translated, don't even let your eyes stray from me...So there you go.) Why? Because of jealousy, nothing more, nothing else. It's not my fault. It's because you're mine and no one else's.

[QUOTE=Angela;485741]I read the comments to the dating an Italian woman video. Honestly, if more people had a sense of humor there'd be a lot less conflict in the world. It was supposed to be funny...ergo...exaggeration...my God, does the internet attract autistic people or something?

There were a few sane, funny comments, however. A good one was...why doesn't she give him a list or something? :)
As to people who don't understand physical jealousy...what, do you people mate with spores, like plants?
Another sane one: esigente e fastidioso...applies to both men and women.
I needed to amuse myself a bit. Between politics, terrorism, and some posts on here, I was getting a little depressed.

You will feel like you just woke up from a weird dream after watching the previous vid. You'll ask..what just happened?
@Angela
You seem to like my music based on what you said in the cargo pants thread lol (kidding).
It takes a certain kind to enjoy work with a more psychadelic flavor such as the vid I posted last Thursday. Just this morning I awoke from a dream where a vigilante was riding a bicycle trying to catch a criminal with a gun attached to a fishing rod! The fishing rod was about 500 feet long and he kept getting it caught against buildings and cars.
Those dreams are actually pretty normal compared to most of the others I've had such as watching some guy in a music video singing about his disease as his face deforms while some of it melts off or the multiple bouts of sleep paralysis I had one night, some of which involved screaming disembodied voices shouting loudly in my ears, a faceless baby, me attempting to scream in terror at the top of my lungs but not being able to etc. I could write a book, but I don't want to stray too far from the topic of this thread.
I'm no stranger to sleep paralysis and throughout most episodes, I would hear "spirits" screaming in my ears.

"This next song was sung by Billie Holiday, called Gloomy Sunday. When she first recorded it on the radio there was a protest from the record company because it was too pessimistic and depressing. Therefore, they had her change the ending to make it more optimistic and hopeful. And at that moment was born the first pop music. I don't do it that way, of course."

What a lady. Is she looking like Nefertite?
I like the song and the visuals.
It sounds like a meanad, allthough she is from San Diego, I have the intense taste of south italy with her vibrato tremolo voices. I think she place the song in an other level
An amazing "love you forever" at exactly 03:59.
I don't know about you, but I can't understand her very well, nor Billie Holiday, for that matter, so for anyone else who has that trouble, see the lyrics below.
Also, this is the link to the Billie Holiday version, for comparison.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KUCyjDOlnPU
Did you know it was originally a Hungarian song? That makes more sense to me.
""Gloomy Sunday"
Sunday is gloomy,
My hours are slumberless,
Dearest the shadows
I live with are numberless
Little white flowers will
never awaken you
Not where the black coach
of sorrow has taken you
Angels have no thought of
ever returning you
Would they be angry
if I thought of joining you
Gloomy Sunday.
Gloomy is sunday
with shadows I spend it all
My heart and I have
decided to end it all
Soon there'll be candles
and prayers that are sad,
I know, let them not weep,
let then know
that I'm glad to go
Death is no dream,
for in death I'm caressing you
With the last breath of my
soul I'll be blessing you
Gloomy Sunday
Dreaming
I was only dreaming
I wake and I find you
asleep in the deep of
my heart
dear
Darling I hope that my dream
never haunted you
My heart is telling you
how much I wanted you
Gloomy Sunday."

@ΠΑΝΑΞ
Sunday seems to be a problem for a lot of people. No doubt overindulging on Saturday nights has a lot to do with it.
I love the song "Black Coffee", sometimes called "Coffee and Cigarettes" also about the Sunday "blues". Peggy Lee does it beautifully, but this is my personal pick, with K.D.Lang...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5Gba61V2nQ
Then there's always "Sunday Morning Coming Down"-Kris Kristofferson:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=men-059FGL0
KD Lang can project more "heat" into a song than virtually anyone I can think of, as she does in this snippet of the song "Fever". The sizzle is obviously for women, though, rather than for men, which I think has inhibited her career even in this era.

I am leaving for vacations, for few days, (moderator ban me now , before I return  )
I always like Samothrake, a fan of the island,
but this year, the females of the family wanted to go elsewhere, ΠΥΡ ΓΥΝΗ και ΘΑΛΑΣΣΑ fire women and sea, the 3 most bad things  known even from ancient world.
so they decide to go the the National and more Park of Monaxus-Monahus, the last area of birth of the trully mediterrenean seal

I always hate cosmopolitan islands with bars night clubs, and 'super chef restaurants'
but seems at my age i would start to like them.
me daughters will force me to walk all the island, taking revenge for the walks I was taking when they they were younger
I start feel my feet geting blisters.
OH! You're talking about hangovers right? Waking up with a weird taste in your mouth, aversion to light, stumbling over your own feet, and questioning why you did that thing last night lol. Made worse by staying up till 3 am and waking up only to find out you fell asleep while doing something lol!
Tend to steer away from rum but one of my friends gave me the rest of his captain morgan last Saturday and I was sick the entire day. I'll stick to vodka lol.
