Does "Queen" classify as old too? Well, I still listen to them when exercising (ugh!)

Or angry with someone!

Or just anytime...

I'd say that if Jefferson Airplane are Paleolithic, Queen would be Mesolithic. So only somewhat old to me but ancient to Generation Y. And I'm too old to want to exercise to "We Will Rock You". But "Another One Bites The Dust" - there are times when I can relate to that one.
Another inspiration for exercising (PLEASE IGNORE THE LYRICS!!).....(oh had to edit...and the Video too) its just the race we are interested in!

How lovely. I played it this morning. I'm going to be downloading it onto my Ipod and phone.
Do you like Renaissance lute music? This English song is very nice.

If you take a look at this video I think you'll see that Queen does indeed attract a younger audience.

I surely do Angela. That is a very nice piece of Music thanks. I go through phases with Lute, pipe organ (love the dramatic sound), violin and guitar. Strangely enough I am not too keen on piano and I can take some doses of Saxophone (as in soft Jazz).
So many things going on at present I am very much in this mood (since we are in Queen mood). I think this song brings out the unique vocal abilities of Farouk Bulsara much better known as Freddie Mercury - The show must go on :).....one of my favorite too.

A tribute to Demise Roussos who passed away recently. A voice that stirs up so many childhood memories. This is my favourite one that used to be played over and over again.

Handel...Sarabande.

Thanks hope, its indeed addictive, Since you posted the first piece, I have been listening to it often. Mostly early in the morning, good start for the day ......one of my favorites now...........must be something about the tempo, seems to fit in nicely with my brain frequency and a good fix if they are out of whack
I don`t know how I came to think Marianne Faithful did a version of this..:rolleyes2: The thing about M.Faithful, in my opinion, is that she didn`t`so much have a great voice but seemed to choose material that played with her voice perfectly, at least in later years. With that in mind, I agree she probably would have made a good version of W.R. Saying that, I think it would be hard to better Slicks own version..:)
I've been on a road trip south, so a lot of "Country" on the airwaves. I usually like the older stuff more, but Faith Hill and Tim McGraw aren't bad...

I like this one by Tim McGraw too:

This seemed appropriate.

Lots of good stuff on that soundtrack. I like Allison Krause doing those old hymns:

If you haven't listened to it, you might like the soundtrack to the movie Cold Mountain too-Jack White doing Wayfaring Stranger:

The songs are all so sad...
Seeing as how some movie soundtracks have been posted, here are two I like.
1] Kingdom of Heaven...most of the music from that movie was excellent.
2] Kingdom Come ..from the movie The Hunger Games..by The Civil Wars [ this one drags on a bit IMO]

I like this style of Music very much. Put them is same genres as 1492 conqeust of Paradise, however this is more subtle.
Into this today https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxytyRy-O1k Linkin Park (wish they left the rap out)
I think I posted this before; unfortunately no one commented on it...

This was on an old compilation; I found this track to be kind of mysterious.
I can't believe he hasn't won anything yet on the Grammy's tonight. Someone else posted one of his songs, I think. Ed Sheeran-I See Fire. The visuals are from The Hobbit.

Norwegian music is very similar to Cajun I noticed
It was a really good movie, and the music in the movie was great, including this wonderful performance of the exquisitely beautiful Il Dolce Suono (The Sweet Sound) from Donizetti's opera Lucia di Lammermoor:
From Wiki:
Lucia descends into madness, and on her wedding night, while the festivities are still being held in the Great Hall, she stabs her new husband, Arturo, in the bridal chamber. Disheveled, unaware of what she has done, she wanders in the Great Hall, recalling her meetings with Edgardo and imagining herself married to him.
Donizetti intended the aria to be accompanied by the eerie sound of the glass harmonica, though this instrument is often replaced in performance by a flute.
An arrangement of the aria was featured in the film The Fifth Element, sung by the alien character Diva Plavalaguna voiced by Inva Mula.
The lyrics-Italian and English:
Il dolce suono mi colpì di sua voce!
Ah, quella voce m'è qui nel cor discesa!
Edgardo! io ti son resa. Edgardo! Ah! Edgardo, mio! Si', ti son resa!
fuggita io son da' tuoi nemici. (nemici)
Un gelo me serpeggia nel sen!
trema ogni fibra!
Oh, me felice!
Oh gioia che si sente, e non si dice!
Ardon gl'incensi!
Splendon le sacre faci, splendon intorno!
Ecco il ministro!
Porgimi la destra!
Oh lieto giorno!
Al fin son tua, al fin sei mio,
a me ti dona un Dio.
Ogni piacer più grato,
mi fia con te diviso
Del ciel clemente un riso
la vita a noi sarà.
The sweet sound of his voice struck me!
Ah, that voice has entered my heart!
Edgardo! I surrender to you, oh my Edgardo!
I have escaped from your enemies.
A chill creeps into my breast!
Every fibre trembles!
My foot falters!
Sit down by the fountain with me a while!
Alas, the tremendous phantom arises and separates us!
Let us take refuge here, Edgardo, at the foot of the altar.
It is scattered with roses!
A heavenly harmony, tell me, do you not hear it?
Ah, the marriage hymn is playing!
They are preparing the rite for us! Oh, how happy I am!
Oh joy that is felt but not said!
The incense is burning!
The holy torches are shining, shining around!
Here is the minister!
Give me your right hand!
Oh joyful day!
At last I am yours, at last you are mine,
A god gives you to me.
Let me share
The greatest pleasures with you,
A smile from merciful heaven,
Life will be ours.
I actually came on to post my favorite performance from last night's Grammy Awards:smile:
Hozier and Annie Lenox: Take Me To Church and I Put A Spell On You
She's 60 years old and she's still great and totally believable... she showed them all how it's really done...Go, Annie.

Here are the lyrics to Take Me To Church (The Goddess Lives ) and I Put A Spell On You
"Take Me To Church"
My lover's got humour
She's the giggle at a funeral
Knows everybody's disapproval
I should've worshipped her sooner
If the heavens ever did speak
She's the last true mouthpiece
Every Sunday's getting more bleak
A fresh poison each week
'We were born sick, ' you heard them say it
My Church offers no absolutes
She tells me, 'Worship in the bedroom.'
The only heaven I'll be sent to
Is when I'm alone with you—
I was born sick,
But I love it
Command me to be well
Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen.
[Chorus 2x:]
Take me to church
I'll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies
I'll tell you my sins and you can sharpen your knife
Offer me that deathless death
Good God, let me give you my life
If I'm a pagan of the good times
My lover's the sunlight
To keep the Goddess on my side
She demands a sacrifice
Drain the whole sea
Get something shiny
Something meaty for the main course
That's a fine looking high horse
What you got in the stable?
We've a lot of starving faithful
That looks tasty
That looks plenty
This is hungry work
[Chorus 2x:]
Take me to church
I'll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies
I'll tell you my sins so you can sharpen your knife
Offer me my deathless death
Good God, let me give you my life
No Masters or Kings
When the Ritual begins
There is no sweeter innocence than our gentle sin
In the madness and soil of that sad earthly scene
Only then I am Human
Only then I am Clean
Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen.
[Chorus 2x:]
Take me to church
I'll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies
I'll tell you my sins and you can sharpen your knife
Offer me that deathless death
Good God, let me give you my life
The lyrics to I Put a Spell On You-
I put a spell on you
Because you're mine
Stop the things you do
Watch out, I ain't lying
I can't stand
No running around
I can't stand
No putting me down
I put a spell on you
Because you're mine, oh yeah
Stop the things you do
Watch out, I ain't lying
Oh, oh, I love you, I love you
I love you anyhow
I don't care if you don't want me
I'm yours right now
I put a spell on you
Because you're mine, mine, mine
Oh, ooh you're mine
This is my favourite from Annie Lenox

as for Hozier here is a more direct meaning of the lyrics, no doubt would be banned in Russia = Propoganda and if Church = Religion then what about Islam + Africa (maybe exclude south Africa and a couple of more countries) of and the horror of Persecutions visa vi homosexuality, defiantly not history but still fakeness ignorance still alive and well in 2015

Yes, it`s definitely liked by many, Maleth.
I like music from lots of genres with some exceptions, rap is one. I don`t like heavy metal either and I know there is a style called Rap-metal which fuses the two..so I can safely say I wont be putting that on any of my playlists:startled:
Also....have a great time this Friday at the carnival
although i like traditional folk/pagan
i am not outside modern world,
