Thank you, you've put me on the right track I think!
I can't post links, but on familytreedna, I found

That's a good area to be from, I think :)
I am lucky to have some resources for my stuff.
K1b1b - per 23&me Ancient Irish/Welsh/Scot/Brit - maybe pre-Celtic, maybe indigenous. They may have ended up in the British Isles through the Alps (Otzi, the frozen caveman), or may have moved up...
Sorry, I should have added that. To make things a little more interesting, I'm R-Z92. There are many R1a-Z92 folks, not so many R-Z92, and no R1b-Z92 or R1-Z92.
Since I was looking around and...
Hi, Newbie here. I see a lot of discussion about R1a and R1b as being in all these ancient cultures.
But I'm R (R-M207) which is an ancestor branch of both R1a and R1b.
Is that found in any of...
I'm y-haplogroup R (R-M207). My Dad's folks came from NE Poland.
Quoting myself, I've learned that R (R-M207) is an ancestor of R1a and also that R-Z92 is an ancestor of R1a-Z92, which makes sense, but I didn't know much when I typed the previous message :)
I have the R haplogroup (R-M207), from NE Poland. I've seen documentation of other R-M207 folks in Estonia and Russia.
Not sure what that says about the migration patterns, but I'm adding the data...
Thanks!
First, I'm new here to learn.
I asked the folks at 23&me, and they said that the Z92 was part of both the R and R1a haplogroups.
R is R-M207, R1a is R-M420 so the answer confused...
Thanks! I'm not sure how to like a post, but I like your post :)
I'm mtDNA K1b1b from old Irish/Welsh/Scot/Briton per 23&me.
Hi Folks, newbie here.
Old thread, but I'm mtDNA K1b1b called ancient Irish/Welsh/Scot/Briton. My Mom was very dark complected, and could possibly be considered "Black Irish" (Indigenous Irish). ...
Hi Folks, I'm new, but there isn't a group for my y-haplogroup, but yours is a very close descendent branch. I'm an R- (R-M207), as in R-Z92
Can I hang out with you guys?
Hi, I'm new, and my y-Haplogroup is (per 23&me)
R-Z92
But I don't see any mention of R- here, just R1a and R1b and the like.
My understanding is that R is R-M207, and R1a is R-M420
Is...
Newbie, but I have a quick question since this thread is all about the R's.
My Y-Haplogroup is R-Z92 according to 23&me. I think R1a is R-M420 and R is RM207, so maybe they're sibling branches,...
We might be cousins. I'm also R-Z92 per 23&me and your sidebar says you are R-Z92. (the title says R1a-Z92, but that's a different marker, iirc, R-M420 for R1a, and R-M207)
My Dad's folks came...
